Description
Not sure about the genre here.

Donna Devine sent me some lyrics - I told her I was waaaaaay behind on musical projects, had a song hanging over my head for 2 years, and wasn't too good at coming up with music. She was not to be deterred - went out and found a musician: THE VERY ONE WAITING FOR THAT 2 YEAR OLD SONG. I'm still laughing.

Lyrics
Leave Your Mind At The Door

Your PhD in astrophysics
Makes the universe your oyster
But women are a mystery
It's like you grew up in a cloister
Your hero is Pythagoras
That mathematical Greek
And scholars cluster round
To listen when you speak

You're as bright as Einstein
Write like Marcel Proust
But your silhouette in jeans
Inspires me the most

Conversation's such a bore
It takes up too much time
I've got something else in store
So when I ask you round to dine
Bring your body and French wine
But leave your mind at the door

Well I can take or leave Camus
Much too existential
If I'm here alone with you
I'd rather get down to essentials
Put physical back into physics
Turn astro back into stars
They'll explode on impact
When my Venus meets your Mars

You're as bright as Einstein
Write like Marcel Proust
But your silhouette in jeans
Inspires me the most

Conversation's such a bore
It takes up too much time
I've got something else in store
So when I ask you round to dine
Bring your body and French wine
But leave your mind at the door

You're as bright as Einstein
Write like Marcel Proust
But your silhouette in jeans
Inspires me the most

Conversation's such a bore
This girl wants something more
Here's a thought you can't ignore
Kiss me...
Bring your body and French wine
But leave your mind at the door

This is just too damn smart
and clever for the average guy. Wait long enough and it all comes together. Superb vocals. Wonderfully fun song. Thanks.

This song
really suits you down to the ground Anne... a great song and lyrics as a vehicle for your melted milk chocolate tones. Do you realize that people hang around here for weeks, waiting for a Sisters 'fix'; well I've stopped shaking now and I should just about last another two weeks at least, but I may have overdosed with this song LOL. Top stuff, cheers M

You're solidly in your groove these days. Production is very strong, too (I'm starting to disbelieve all that "I-just-blindly-twiddle-the-knobs" malarkey...)

Although I know
that every track you post is going to be superb, for some reason it's always a surprise that the latest is as good as the previous ones.
What I am trying to say in a very clumsy way is that I am a massive fan and love this as well as all the others.
Perfection.
Downloaded. Thanks.
Cheers

Wonderful
This is really cool. I love the lyrics - smart and witty and with some really nice memorable lines ("put physical back into physics"! love it!) - and the music is very nicely done. I really like the guitar, and the percussion is nice, giving the track a lovely, loose swinging feel. Your vocal is as enthralling as ever, filled with soul, and something a bit more down to earth! Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.
