Voices of flute players past

Get Flash to see this player.

Just some tinkering with drone noises. This uses some flute playing (Butch Hall F# flute), processed with tons of plugins (Delay designer, Space designer, Time Freezer, Diatonic pitch shifter, some of Michael Norris' spectral plugs, several more delays).

Communicating with spirits
Woah, this is quite powerful - a tool for transcending everyday consciousness. I love drones, and the way they resonate out of one another here is very stirring. It sounds like a shamanic ritual piece ... I need to go and meditate over some burnt twigs.

Woods with no Sun
Fantastic Dark ambient.I used to listen to this kind of music (Lustmord, Robert Rich) a lot about 3 years ago.In fact, that was all I wanted to hear at the time.
There is a movie called "Stalker", by the russian director Andrei Tarkovsky.Your piece would fit perfectly on that movie.

Brain tune-up
This reminds me of some meditative "brain-wave" music I've ordered on cassettes back in the late 1980s, designed to tune up the brain while relaxing. Sort of like the Robert Monroe "hemi-sync" process.

You have created some very interesting textures here. It's very dream-like. It brought forth visions of swirling layers of clouds on an overcast sky, where there are subtle shifts in patterns but on the same gray background.

I wouldn't have figured this piece to be in the Native American genre -- then again, this kind of sound could have very well been experienced in a Vision Quest!

Very creative work.

cosmic trip
my ear was glued to the unfolding of the spaciousness you created.
you obviously took a huge amount of time piecing this baby together.
i like the way you've taken Time and frozen it, shifted it, processed it, and spectraled it.
dream of a piece.

Wind breezing by
caverns, caught up and echoing and resonating off the cave walls. Spirits weaving in and around the leaves and under the water falls at night. Expectancy of something not quite within the same dimension of time and space. This is like the silence that lives between sounds and gives music its breath. Really neat! Thanks.

Yes! Ummagumma!
This is downright eeirie! (I feel like I'm in a seance that has gone slightly awry.)

Just waiting for someone to whisper: "Careful with that axe Eugene..."

Be well friend!

Hauntingly beautiful.
These long gone musicians are playing from a different defused dimension. The shapeless sounds we here are faint reverberation of what to them is a masterpiece of precision and passion.

In past lives, VicDiesel was a country fiddler, a shawm player at the Burgundy court, bellows pumper for JS Bach, Geoff Emerick's factotum, and a beggar playing drums in the streets of Calcutta for alms. Unusually, the memories of all that co... [see more]
