Far to long....
and repetitive.i certainly could see this being used as a soundbed in a trendy clothing store or perhaps a soundtrack for a 80's type school play, etc. The recording is decent and sounds used are in keeping with the era,but it is a very tedious tune as is.

Not bad
As GC said above, good sound, and nice recording. The bass loops (it didn't sound like live bass guitar) are strong, but much too repetitive, as is the tune overall. I agree with GC on the length issue as well - with lyrics and a decent melody, and trimmed down to maybe 3 minutes, the ideas here could make something interesting. I like the way things resolve into the more subtle bits after the tension that builds up. I think you missed a number of good opportunities to finish this off way before 5:47, which is as far as I got.

Not really cool enough to be good electronic music and not interesting or structured enough to be "pop".

If you're just starting out in recording, I'd suggest trying to limit yourself to 3 minutes and trying to provide a snappy structure, especially for the "pop" genre.
