It’s been one of those day’s when pain leads to pain
And nothing is soothing at all

I wait by the window - It’s raining like crazy
And I’m wishing my Jenny would call

There’s no food in the freezer and the TV is broken
And a spider spins time on the wall

I’m high as a kite but that’s no consolation
When I’m wishing my Jenny would call

There’s a flower on the table
But it ain’t meant for no one
Cause there’s no one that I meant it for

Cause I’m madder than hell cause she knows how I worry
She seen me up pacing the floors

Now don’t get me wrong cause I ain’t complainin’
It’s just I’m wishin’ my Jenny would call

I can picture her dancing in this rain dressed in lace
But the picture keeps fading away

Now don’t I look foolish I’m feeling so helpless
God I wish my Jenny would call…

music for drunken melancholic reading
for whatever reason last nite I picked up my old Bukowski reader and started paging through randomly and this tune fits nicely in with that vibe. love the "tv is broken" line and the ragtimey/honkey tonk piano. cool background vox too. thanks for the download!

You are...
...Neil Diamond and i claim my $50. Seriously man you have a real classic set of vocal chords. Beautiful delivery across a simply gorgeous backing track. I love, love, love this.
I'm a sucker for a cowboy's lament and this is far from lamentable!

Nice song, and a great vocal
Love where you're going on this one Michael. Smooth clean vox on it sells the song, and the back tracks hold it all together.

I would have liked to have heard a more dynamic change on the chorus, but I know how it is sometimes when you're putting one of these together. Sometimes it just seems to flow out and you let it go the way the muse is pointing.

Great song my friend,

Check out my latest song called Quack's Blues
