The Visitors Enter The Atmosphere

 Genre: Ambient

The idea behind this mix is that the visitors, from a previous mix, are now entering earth's atmosphere, and the tension builds, and also the people of earth experience a different type of fear and forboding.

As always please let me know your thoughts, good or not so good, on this mix and the ideas behind it.

Paul ...
I have become quiet an addict of your work ... and this is a "super fix" ! The tension is palpable and the mother ship is visible ... I don't think they are smiling.

I hoped that someone felt that there was tension expressed through the music, so I rest easy now.

The mix came through me trying some slower rhythms, with PAD's playing nicely. The rest just 'came together'. I'm playing with PAD's from many soft synths, to try to find my 'ultimate PAD' but I guess I'll never get there, but there'll be lots more experiments with Ambient along the way.

Opium for the listener. I know I send people to sleep sometimes but this addiction of yours made me smile. Just keep listening. The music will be its own cold turkey, after a few more fixes, I mean mixes.

Take care.

Take care.

Deep and Dark
Loved the scratchy strings and throbbing main pad. UFO sound just enough. Loved the mix. Try adding some in distinct echoing talking at some point. Try and create the effect that a conversation is going on but you cannot quite hear it. Paranoia Your being talked about but what are they saying? If that makes any sense.

Hi TBesq......
You have some good ideas. I'll play aorund and see what comes out the other end of the keyboards.

You mention paranoia. I think I have that already, and I already heaer voices in ALL my music, if I've added it or not!! I need a holiday, to get rid of the voices.

These choirs that I hear don't sing. They just repeat things over and over and over again, and then they read the verses again.....

Thanks for stopping by and I will thing about your suggestions.

Take care.

You have...
...captured the thoughts of your Description (above) beautifully, Paul. In this one, you seem to have really nailed your thoughts with the music/orchestration you have chosen to mix. The metallic feeling and the copter noises are all quite foreboding to me and I can imagine what the earthlings would be thinking were this scenario to come to pass... (I wonder why humans always think in terms of death and doom and destruction when it comes to visits by aliens. I wonder if the benevolence of "Close Encounters..." might ultimate prevail if this ever came to pass. Wouldn't both sides be awfully curious, so much so that they would try to put out their least frightening characteristics.... Just a thought.) You've created something unique and very visual with this post. You are the master...I've said that before.
(Sorry I am so late getting to this. I am catching up on several weeks worth of posts... My studio has been "down" for some upgrading and repairs.)

Hi Paul......
I think it's the fear of the unknown. We treat anything with suspicion because of this same fear.

From the music point of view, this is a 'classical meeting of peoples' as depicted in any movie, but from the point of the visitors here being extra-terrestrials. The story is just the same but with different characters and times.

Thanks for your (always) interesting thoughts.

Take care.
