WELL Im going to take my GOOD OLE time on this one...

this here is the tune ,, the melody, and the first two verses

I intend to find someone on here with
an auto harp,
a penny whistle,
an irish hand drum (what are those things called)
a concertina,
perhaps a guitar

and then get everyone on M.J. who`d like to take part to sing together with me on this...

so to start I need about 5 more verses.. Ideally (for the last verse) Im thinking that the ship will sink, and so the last verse he is literally holding his breath until he see`s his lassy again...

any takers? I think it`ll be a fun project to get everyone in on...

It's not pronounced Brogan, it's more like (Bow-rawn)
Where did you get Brogan from?

some lyrics
Come all you young fellows and listen to me,
Beware of the drink when it's given for free,
For old captain browne will get you drunk and he,
Will take your sleeping body to work out at sea.

He'll pay you two dollars to work all the day,
He'll get watered down rum to keep thirst at bay,
He'll give you some errands to run while on shore,
You'll work on his ship until there's a war.

(Your Verse)

When war breaks out on the water you'll float,
You'll stay on the deck of a big galleon boat,
You'll watch out for pirates and enemy's for,
What else should you do when the world is at war.

When the war ends and you come into land,
Your big galleon boat will crash on the sand,
You'll see your fair lassy and leave captain brown,
Set his big boat on fire and watch it go down.

You'll set it fire away from the shore,
None of the sailors will go there no more,
They'll all curse and swear at that old captain browne,As he awaits his trial from the magistrates of the town.

He'll get 20 years in the old bailey jail,
He'll never get out, 'cause he'll never get bail
He'll die and he'll rot in the old prison cell
And then old captain browne will be buried in hell.
