Entropy of Fusion

Description
Tricky to sort it under a certain genre but certainly a fusion of Electonic and Rock elements. I don't know if this song is capable for vocals. Freel free to commentate.

Panning
In terms of mastering this is pretty rough, but good to read this. Sometimes it fits on the first run and parts work "out of the box".

Thanks Feter!

i
really like the drum sounds on this. perfectly mixed. imaginative synths. reckon you could have vox on this if you left a space between piano parts

Space
You are right, only cleaning up the piano parts would provide enough space.

Thanks for your suggestion.

in-fushion
excellent tune. electronic new wave comes to mind. oddly new wave and glam seem to be missing from the music gendre listings. go figure

the mix is nicely laid out with plenty of air throughout. the piano carries the melody in this very nicely.

con-fusion
Many thanks Vic for your kind words ... maybe "new wave" approaches quite well. Presently there are so many style mixtures and hybrids leading to a capital mess in the field of music classification (see iTunes Store).

Really well done
Could easily be be part of a soundtrack.

Love the "acoustic" piano against the heavily processed sounds.

Cheers

heavily processed
Nice to read from you, Dick. Several guitar amp / distortion plug-ins were on duty to kill the (elsewise pretty hard to bear) softness of the piano. Seems, that I can't escape the soundtrack-trap.

Cheers,
Alex

Catchy
This is great Alex - a really strong chord sequence, great beats - works well instrumentally, but would also suit vocals - there are definately some strong vocal lines there ... i'll dl for future consideration!

Actually, i'm working on an electro/dance type number myself, and may send it your way for help!

Electro/dance track
I'm glad you liked it (and of course you're welcome for considerations)! Funny, that you are planning a trip into the electro field. Feel free to send me your work in progress if you like to - I will help you if / wherever I can with your electro track ...

dynamics
Alex, Great dynamics on this cut. The piano is indeed the star, but I have to say the synths come in a close second. The mix is wide and differentiated across the wide range of instruments you have employed. They all cut their own groove and don't complete in the same spacial field. I think vocals would be a great idea on this. Maybe a lush massively overdubbed bed of a chorus with saturated reverb and a dark lead vocal to emphasize the haunting quality you have already established.

Thanks, Phil for your comment and your detailed ideas for vocal treatments. I can easily imagine, that this will work great! May I knock on your door in due time?
