Welcome back
Rusty! I wondered what had happened to you.

The vocals are spectacular in this Rusty... If I have one little nit... the kick and percussion seem to be totally in my right ear in the phones... Its not bad just a little distracting...

I like this song a lot!

thanks for listening mark
thanks i'm glad you liked my vocals and thanks again for listening mark. yeah i mentioned that to tony after your comment and he told me what the deal was however it slipped my mind what he said. he did say we should be laying down another cut of this at some point and i know it'll be corrected then. sorry it took so long to comment i actually responded quickly to your comments and i noticed later on for some reason it didn't post. thanks for listening with headphones that's something i should do as well. our band will be posting another track hopefully sunday...hopefully i'll hear from you again on that one.

hello feter!
hey there feter!! man i'm glad you liked the song so much. dee(where is she?) told me you were the MAN here at macjams when i first joined so i hold your opinion in high regards. you definitely have a sweet style and are the master collaborator. I'm glad you liked the mix so much, if you feel your at the stage then that's all we could have hoped for. my friend/bandmate/guitarist tony produced it so i'll tell him you liked it. it's feels good for me to be back after being gone for a while and it's good to see a familar face.

hi
nice song. i like the drum a lot. unplugged feel. how did u recorded it? how many mics you used? i'm tired of using loops, wanna have more control on the groove.

The arrangement of the song is pro. The verse, chorus, and ending is well-thought. Thanks for the song.

hey teeyau
thanks, teeyau...well i didn't record this my friend and bandmate tony did, but i was present so i'll give it a shot. we used drum mikes one on each drum and used a condensor mike for the high hat and two more condensor mikes on overhead mike stands to catch the cymbals.get your levels set on each mike, watch for overloads and any bleeding of the sound from the other drums and cymbals into you mikes...we didn't have enough inputs in the roland portable studio we used, so we used an interface with limiters. then it was mixed down to two tracks. tony thought he could do alot better. he said the limiters were killing the natural acoustics of the drum, that they were coming out flat or dry. he warmed them back up with some reverb, and i believe he may have mentioned another technique which i can't recall. i've never worked with loops, but it's something i wouldn't mind giving a try someday. i'm glad you liked the arrangement, it was practically all there as tony brought it in. he said he wanted something added on the end and i had this little bitty vocal thing and tony liked it and ran with it. it may have been "well thought out" as you commented, but it was relatively a last second kind of thing. teeyau your stuff is beautifu. good luck with whatever track your working on.

already gone -
This is a really good song and is so very close to the Eagles style. I feel the chorus could be enhanced even more with some carefully worked out close harmonies, probably above the lead vocal. Great hook and vocals and good overall performance - this is alive with possibilities and options.

thanks woof
hey woofer i'm glad you enjoyed it..yeah it reminded me of the eagles as well. tony my bandmate wrote the tune and wanted those harmonies in there. i haven't sang with a group for a while so i was a little rusty harmonizing. yeah i'm glad you feel there are different options to run with...the next time we played it came out as a cool "Allman Bros." jam. your doing some great stuff woof, thanks for listening.

Classic
This is such a classic genre, you capture it perfectly. Once again the vocals are outstanding!
The guitar is so crisp, with outstanding talent. I use to pay to sit down and hear this music!

i like this genre myself
thanks scaustrita i'm glad you think we got it right. you also commented on the mix on our other post and i'll be sure to share it with tony the producer/lead guitarist. he'll be glad to hear it. i'm glad you liked the vocals so much...i can tell from hearing your tracks you are working with some great ones. as far as the guitar being crisp and outstanding it is all tony...i'll be sure and tell him from one player to another because your not to shabby yourself there scaustrita!! thanks for commenting

excellent song
Very nice songwriting, great lyrics. I agree that the drums panned way off to the sides is a little weird in headphones, but other than that, the singing, guitar work, drums, all work nicely.

i'm glad you liked it
thanks drak!! it's good to see/hear you again...i was on hiatus for like a year! i'm glad you liked it and consider it "excellent" you've got bags of talent and it's nice to have you commenting. i'm happy with the feedback we've been getting and performance wise i know it's not quite as tight as it could be...we consider this a worktape/demo until we get to the studio a little later. hope your having fun with whatever project your working on and thanks again for commenting.
