Lyrics
(verse 1)wife weepin' on a wednesday. cos' tuesday was so hard. your gonna, gonna mess up your make-up. If the Lord's your shepard. it won't be long. it won't be long. (chorus) till hard times are passin' on. (repeat 3 more X's) (verse 2) sunday's sermon it got to me, more than usually. brother, brother that kind of love. that kind of love is what i need. (bridge) and as i kneel at the cross (repeat 3 more X's) i can feel as i kneel, really feel. almost hear you saying, hear you saying. Lord i hear you saying to me. (chorus) hard time's are passing on (repeat 3 more X's)

your the best feter!!
thanks alot feter!! thanks for coming back and responding so quickly i really appreciate it. i'm glad you liked the burst of the guitar..i also contribute alot of the power to our drummer who brought some real sonic impact with his performance. it made a huge difference. that intro was added late in production and if you have your headphones to loud, look out!! you could spill your morning coffee! ha,ha!! i really appreciate your comments on my vocals..i need the encouragement!! :) i was worried you may not like this one so much, it was considerably heavier than our last post.

I like it!
It reminds me of Skynyrd, good sound, and the message is hope. :-)

thanks alot roxylee!!
I'm glad you like it roxy and thanks again for coming over. skynyrd...huh i hadn't thought of that...but now that you mention it the opening guitar part has a very "skynerish" ring to it. the chorus as well...how did i miss that? i live so deep in the south (backwoods mississippi) that i'm probably tone deaf to southern rock!! ha,ha!! the song has changed so much with just me strumming my acoustic to a larger production that i'm a little overwhelmed. yeah at the end of the day i want the message to get through..i want to connect emotionally/spiritually with people. you and feter are that type of artists so you guys can help keep me on track.

Mix
Your mix caught my attention from the beginning. Great lyrics and voxs. Acoustics guitars are very clean. Great voice, try doubling your vox's for a fatter sound. Lead guitar is powerful, yet is doesn't over power the song.

All and all, great song!

thanks so much!!
i appreciate the kind comments you made and after hearing your music i am flattered. your a pro and that is immediately apparent to me. my good friend and guitarist in the band tony produced this demo and we hope to continue with it, as well as the others, into a professional studio. thanks for the advice on vocals and i'm glad you initially liked what you heard with my voice. Tony is the real deal as a guitar player, very versitile, and i feel fortunate to be working with him and the drummer damen. i cringe a bit at my vocals in this..i could do better. i'm glad you liked it and look out for our next post "The Garden We Made" in about 2 to 3 weeks. by the way scaustrita when you have time check out my first post "knock on the door". your insight is welcome here anytime!!

awesome chipmunk picture !!!
Were any chipmunks harmed during the making of this photo?? ha,ha!! thanks for the comment on my vocals i'd love to sing folk or bluegrass (i love plant and krauss' album)!! i think "we" the band should have some things like that coming down the pipe to macjams. well it won't be purely done in those styles it will be "folky" or "bluegrassish". Be sure and check out my other two posts as they may be just what you are wanting to hear. one is similar in style to some early Eagles and the other is a softer folky acoustic thing. i'm glad you think we rocked this tune and our goal as a band is to produce a collage of styles..don't worry the next post probably be polka or yodelling, but i wouldn't rule it out altogether either !!! ha,ha!

i'm glad you liked it davis
thank's davis i really appreciate the comments...you know i was a bit uptight about this...i was biting my nails and i have no nails left to bite!! ha!(just kiddin') it was a new direction for me and i trusted my bandmate's instincts...but it still felt strange. like i was dropping one of my kids off for their first day of kindergarten. but what can i say tony and damen are extraordinary and i knew it was in good hands. a matter of fact it was probably the equivalent of me bringing in a minute steak for Emerald and Wolfgang Puck to prepare!! ha, ha!! tony produced the demo and pretty much handled all the arrangements and was open to input from each of us. he deserves alot of credit for the his work on this as i have received many comments on the mix and production quality. thanks again davis, i'll tell the guys!!

Sweat
This is a great work. The vocals are engaging. I really like this one. I would love to mix it. Not that anything is wrong with the mix, just like messing with things that sound great.

thanks gaylen
thanks gaylen i glad you enjoyed it and i'm glad you liked my vocals. i'm glad you like the mix. tony worked hard on it and he did great. yeah i can understand you wanting to mix on it. i like tinkering a little myself. i still haven't really just dove into recording yet. i am learning and do a little reading so i'm picking up things slowly. usually i'm just to busy songwriting.

Very beautiful melody
I really enjoyed the song. I think the vocal sounds a tad muffled for some reason. Other than that, sounds good. Raw almost live sounding recording

thanks crissew
thanks crissew, i liked your newest post as well. muffled vocals, yeah i see where your coming from on that...it could take a while but their should be a new improved version to come. i didn't record or mix it...i'm still learning on that end. tony a friend and bandmate did. i know i've mentioned tony a 100 times, but he should get the credit he deserves. i actually need to make a band page for us on macjams. he does great and i am learning what i can from him. well it is multitracked individually one performance at a time. "raw and live"-i think the real drums and damen's style and the rawness of the guitar effect tony's using. plus it has a groove going...i think all of that add to the illusion of it being or sounding "live". tony also worked hard on his pans to isolate each instrument in the mix. thanks again for commenting.

Hard times
Glad I got a chance to check this out. The lyrics have a Billy Joel feel to them. Especially that first verse. I love Billy Joel so please take that as a compliment. Is this recorded live or track by track?
rustykangaroo said 3429 days ago (September 30th, 2009)
billy joel ?!?! that's great!!!
thanks lennon i'm glad you enjoyed it...no i'll take billy joel as a great compliment...he's a great lyricist one of the best, so thank you!!! it was recorded track by track...on a roland porta studio. it's a scratch demo for the song which we should be taking into the studio later.
