Qodesh, Qodesh - Part 1

Do you have an idea how I can get rid of all that hiss? Any help, including downloading and sending me a de-hissed file would be greatly appreciated.

This was recorded - live again, on a portable Sony Minidisc. The stereo mics are home-made from radio-shack parts and internet plans.

This part 1 is of 2 or 3 parts - I haven't decided if the middle part will be included. This is actually the instrumental before a song, part 2 (if used) would be an instrumental and vocal interlude between the first two songs, and part 3 (or 2) is another instrumental closing the two song medley.

Unfortunately, just after I hit the Overdrive, the preacher started talking - so you don't get the really cool guitar part. This was a single pickup Vox electric hollow-body guitar (for more info check here: http//sites.g/... I'm not sure of the copyright implications so I won't include the well known songs in the medley - even though they recorded really well.

Someone was near one of the mics and accidentally brushed up against it - I cut out the worst of the popping, put it messed a little with the timing and remnants are still there. Sorry, but I really liked the music and pray that you do too.

Portable Sony Mini-Disc recorder, home-made mics, Vox electric hollow-body guitar, not sure what Max's bass was or the brand of keyboard used by Don Miller, Shawn, about 14 y.o. at the time was playing an electric kit.
modified on a Mac with Audacity, recorded from the Mini-Disc to a PC through a 10-band stereo Equalizer using the standard Windows Wave Recorder. I may try recording this again once I set up my external processor rack and see if it works better - but here it is for now.

Photo by me: trying out a new camera, my son was throwing burning embers into the air from our backyard fire-pit.

Sorry about the previous one,
a bug in my Audacity saves a blank file if I hit the "delete" key during Title entry - what a production to fix that mistake on MacJams, I'll try not to make it again....

Thanks for the comments!

I tried to denoise the track but
the hiss and hum is all throughout the audio spectrum. Maybe someone else can, but I couldnt get rid of it without killing the tone as well. I would recommend recording it again. a few sm57's would probably help things a bit for live recording. You can get them cheap on ebay. Sorry, tried to help but I got nothin.

I'd love to hear the singers, too. This is peaceful and got me stilled this morning, thank you. :-)
