Description
This song is about the first heap of snow that drops in the winter. I composed it on my piccolo bass, recorded it, then played keyboards, bass and additional piccolo bass parts. I added a drum loop and hit some cymbals. Thanks very much for listening.

Tx! Yes, the keyboards play the melody parts and embellish the chords. They really bring the sound out of the guitar parts.

I can hear the winter wind :-) normally not my favorite time of year, but this composition just might change my mind..lol..welcome back! A real sweet track Drew. Along with that picture it puts me in a mellow place. Warm and fuzzies all the way around.

Hope the wrist is fully recovered. If this composition is any indication I'd say you're making great strides.

Tx for the comments KTB! My wrist is getting there. I'm about 90% pain-wise. I can finally play again after about 4 months.

Just a really cool listen, Drew....
There are little bits that remind me of some early Eno things... I love the underpinning of deeper bass tones.... The sounds you get out of the piccolo bass continue to be neat...

Two listens so far... Very enjoyable....

deep bass
Ed, thanks for listening. I did shoot for some low, low tones. I got those from one of the "strings" settings on garageband. I haven't checked out any Eno-styled music. You'll have to point me in the direction of what this piece sounds like. Tx again.

Lovely
Winter song and a beautiful combination of sounds that really do put me in mind of driving down snowy lanes and roads, but in a cosy warm car, regards M

Yes, the picture I had in mind was being in a warm place looking at the blanket of snow on the ground, the icicles hanging from the gutters and trees, and the sun shining. Tx for your comments.

Snowy
Hey this sounds really cool! I hope this means that your arm is healed enough to make music again. This tune is a winter wonderland; it sounds like that image and reminds me of being in a snowy wilderness. Or more accurately, warm in a house in the snowy wilderness.

winter wonderland
Hey Dave! Yes, my wrist is healed enough so I can play again after 4 months. It still hurts, but I can deal with it. It takes some warming up before I can play like I used to, but it is also still improving/healing. Your vision is exactly what I had in mind--a warm house and a heap of snow!! Tx very much for stopping by.

Wow, Winter warmth
If it is Winter, this music melts away the ice. It hit me right off with that toasty warm bass work, and I felt like I was sitting in front of a roaring fire, watching a sunset through fast-blowing snowflakes, but flakes far beyond the warm room I was in. In fact the rolling music made me feel like I was NOT sitting still, but gliding along somehow. Sort of exhilarating warmth... very nice writing and playing... glad to hear you gliding back to us! Cheers!

Snug as a bug...
in a warm and toasty rug. That first snowfall is always so beautiful (kind of like your music ;-) but the ones after the first are anything but. This is quite lovely: thanks for the music and the d/l.

smooth
Tx very much, I appreciate it. I wanted the piece to develop itself so to speak, without pushing or forcing it to sound like something I had heard or thought it should sound. So, I just followed the natural notes and melodies I heard, like sonic scenery for the imagery.
