Description
A song about Father Time seems appropriate as another year draws to a close.
I'm very grateful that my friend Daniel (http://www.macjams.com/artist/PlatonicLust) asked me to sing to his original song, and allowed me to add all sorts of instrumental embellishments, too.
It's been awhile since I've done a folk tune--but the genre is one I very much enjoy. So thanks, Daniel, for the opportunity to sing with you on this!
Original song/lyrics/guitar/vocals--PlatonicLust
All other instrumentals/vocals/production--Mystified
*a special thanks to Bryn for mastering the final version :)

Lyrics
Walk through the forests and over the meadows,
Stroll through the hills, Father Time.
Never a pause just to sniff at the flowers,
Or smile at the summer sunshine.
Old men they curse you; the young wish you'd hurry,
But your ears are deaf to their cries.
You set the pace there's no race--mustn't scurry,
So cruel to the world's crying eyes.
Where did you go? ( x 3 )
Where did you go? ( x 3 )
Time always marching the pace never changing,
For some too fast, others too slow;
So easy to lose you but never to find you,
We often ask where did you go?
Where are you going, oh old man of legend,
Why have you left me behind?
I struggle to follow seeing only your footsteps,
A vague trail is all I can find.
Where did you go?
Stroll through the hills, Father Time.
Never a pause just to sniff at the flowers,
Or smile at the summer sunshine.
Old men they curse you; the young wish you'd hurry,
But your ears are deaf to their cries.
You set the pace there's no race--mustn't scurry,
So cruel to the world's crying eyes.
