Classical guitar and voice. Finger picking FTW -- funny the original picture I had here, quite on topic and not offensive was simply... *gone* - no explanation. So this is one my daughter drew. Lets hope that stays...

If the baby falls
The crib shall age empty

all of the earth
which ever lived
creation everyday
if the baby falls
it would leave the crib quite solo

The sources who join to nurture cries and giggles
Won't change diapers anymore
If our baby falls

Why they quote prophesy
I'll never understand
For they diapered the world
And it filled it self full

Fufilling their prophesies
Of a poor dead planet
If their baby falls

Screaming out for the right to life
They'll never abort their baby
Till the baby falls
Then the crib shall fade
So Humpty Dumpty
With Jack and Jill
And their baby

good stuff
the running guitar lines are very pretty, and I think the note choices are great. The progression of chords into more minor sounds at parts do make my soul shiver.

I think, as with most people on this site, your voice is very VERY good, but vocal control is something that comes with practice, and I can still hear that there may not have been enough compression/mastering at least on the vocal end. The hiss from your mic, though, gives off a great vintage feel. Beautiful.

There was no compression - this is a one off live performance recording. I may have used a contact mic on the guitar - since this was 1983 or 85 its hard to remember the details. But you are right about my vocal control - a great voice is a gift - one I don't have.

Thanks for the listen and comment - this was back in my "play the guitar like a piano" period. Mostly sparked by not having the equipment to overdub for a while. At that time I overdubbed with two stereo cassette decks. One must of broke or something.

"Play the guitar
like a piano?" Must have been difficult to sing these words. Sounds immediate and improvised and so, therefore, warm..despite the cautionary nature of the lyrics. Thanks.

Well, Evan said it was actually about The Bomb.

Here are his words

Evan Harrington - lyrics
Who on 6/23/08 said:

"That was long enough ago that I would probably not do a decent job commenting on the lyrics I wrote. Of course, it is about nuclear arms and the baby is a actually a bomb. "

I said "not about abortion?"

he said "I guess it was slyly a bit about that, too. :)"

the bomb - and abortion activists

Interesting Stuff
Very interesting & unpredictable chord progression. Love the tempo changes throughout the song, very well arranged. Lyrics is also something, simply unique. Cheers / Mike

Unusual and unpredictable chord
progressions makes this an interesting listen! And I really like the arrangement of the guitar and the voice--great pacing and space. Your voice sounds very strong and content-appropriate on this song, moreover: textured without being overdone.

Enigmatic and thought provoking
Another unique piece of work. Beautiful guitar, challenging chord structure (at least for me as a listener). Appropriately natural vocal delivery. It has a live and spontaneous feel to it. Really nice.
