You're the One - w/David Gomez (magullo)

 Genre: Alternative Rock

This is an early version of "You're the One," a song that has morphed considerably since 1972, when I first sang it to my future wife. She is still getting an earful. This version has deft rock guitar touches by David Gómez (Magullo). If I recall correctly, the bulk of this mix was laid down in 2004. David's additions were in 2005.

Hey, go see what Gómez has put together with a small band of Spanish friends: Four Hands Project: Genesis Starship One

You're the One

(c) 2004 Richard Schletty

You are mine and I am yours.
I love you. You love me.
I would like to kiss your lips.
Come to me, come to me.

You're the one who can break my heart in two
If you say you won't be forever true.
This I pray, every hour of the day,
That you'll be my dear friend forevermore.

Nice harmony!
The instrumentation is great, and it's always good to hear songs about love that endures. It' becoming a rarity these days.
