Description
Italian Concertino for Clarinet and Strings
III. Tarantella

I've pretty much given up writing music, so I have nothing new to post. Instead, here's one of my older pieces (written in 2006) that at that time I didn't consider good enough to post -- my B-material. Not that it's crummy music, and I hope you enjoy it, but I just can't bear letting it sit in some folder, unheard forever. This is the final movement of a suite I wrote for clarinet and strings, and I tried for an Italian sound to the music.

You will recognize this as a Neapolitan folk dance called a Tarantella, and you must know the story that if bitten by the large spider, one must keep dancing so as to work the poison out of one's system. If you don't feel moved to dance by this music, I can send you a spider.

As always, the sheet music for this piece is available for a token fee at
My SibeliusMusic web page.
