The Harley
blitzer and dasher had nothin on this. Its the only way to drive your sleigh. The hand and wrist sound in full recovery mode. In fact I think they slipped in some bionics when you weren't looking :-) funky to the extreme Drew

Funky Santa
I said it before and I'll say it again. Who needs a stinkin' guitar player when you can play bass like this.

Funky Santa
Z, LOL, I need a stinkin' guitarist!!! I actually don't like soloing on bass, because its damn hard. I'd rather just hang in the pocket and lay down the thickest groove possible accommodating the musical style. I enjoyed Outside Blues...very cool sounds in that track.

grass is still green
I'm still hanging in there...wish I could rip it up a little more fluidly, but working full time does not lend well to playing bass lines at 125 bps! P.S., I absolutely related to your FWIW tune...had me cracking up. When the “grass was still green”--classic!

P.S., my wife just took the dog for a walk out on a gorgeous woodsy trail. I'm sitting at the coffee table on my notebook (working).

You make an awful lot of music...
...music that ends up being deep and wide, with what some might perceive as an inherently limited instrument... Is this piccolo bass again?

Whatever it is, it sounds great... funky, rhythmic, melodic...

Interesting thing in the mix where the high hat's in one channel, and there's a sort of answering reflection sound in the other... Also rhythmic and musical, and I don't know how you did it...

lot of awful music
Ed, thanks very much for stopping by. There's no piccolo bass on this one, just standard four string basses. I used a Squier Jazz (bought for $240 with tax) for the pop slap sounds and a SX Fretless (bought for $150) for the soloing sounds.

I just listened to your latest tune, and you had me singing along with the melody by the end of it. Great work!
