More recognizable This version has the tune less hidden behind the jazz chords, a more standard approach to the standard. Both approaches are legit. But.... Man, you know a lot of chords! I do have 2 of them somewhere... I mostly make up my own chords by just playing around with inversions etc.That passage at 0:50 is the chord Ab,D,G,Bb then moving the bottom 3 voices down chromatically while playing the melody on top. Dear Mr. Stunkel.... When we refer to a 'blackbird', we are meaning more than the color of the avian plumage, but rather to a specific species... Just any black plumaged bird will not do... We are also not inclined to find references to aging, or to coots, funny.... Upon the other hand, we are prepared to forgive you solely because this is even better than the first version.... Great tone and fluidity, Mark... Great chime.... Really does sound like you're playing some huge jazzbox... This song was altered irreparably for me, firs,t by hearing Joe Cocker sing it, and secondly by the way it was used in the movie (and I think the book) of 'Billy Bathgate'... I suspect that you have used jazz chords, which may or may not have included numbers, herein, but I am choosing to overlook this fact....
