Magic GB Slow Blues (with dave_b)

Description
I finally completed the Snow Leopard upgrade with GB 09. There is a feature in there called Magic Garage Band where you can select one of several song types and the tracks will be generated using loops. This one is "Slow Blues". I'm not the first to upload one of these, and I'm sure I won't be the last! The only thing I did here was to throw a lead on top of the song. Not so much work as usual, had a lot of fun doing it.

Hi Steve, thanks for coming by and for the listen. Magic GB was fun to work with, so I recommend hacking around with it when you get a few spare hours. I really enjoyed your Everything Now.

Slow Blues
Great feature in GB09, I use it for practicing.
By the sound of your lead much practice is not need! Some outstanding licks, not to mention that warm guitar sound you produce . . .

Hi Steve,
Thanks for coming by and for your kind comments. I do practice pentatonics and blues licks almost everyday since they are at the root of a lot of the music I enjoy playing. The tone is from is from one of the virtual stompboxes included with GB09 - Magic GB actually set the song up that way for me. I did click the overdrive switch on it though :)

And in the right channel we have....
Seriously, great guitar playing, it should just be a bit more in the center. C'mon now, don't be shy....

Hi Vic, thanks for coming by and for your kind words. Wish I could play guitar like you play that flute. The Magic GB band was nice enough to allow me to sit in with them, but they warned me to stand to the right to leave some room for the front man :)

very cool...
guitar riffing, Dave. Yeah, I did this a couple weeks ago with my new Les Paul guitar.
You are playing with a great touch and feel on that fretboard. I dig it.

Hi Jack, Thanks for coming by and for your kind words. After hearing your version, which I liked, I wanted to take a whack at it too - sort of reminds me of "Stormy Monday" one of my all time favorites. I don't know if you're familiar with Sloparts' tunes. If you dig this kind of music, I think he's the master around here.
Good thing that Magic GB band hit these parts after they were done touring your way :)

Great
fun and well played. I agree that the guitar should be more centred and higher in the mix. Made me fancy playing with this too.
Cheers

Hi Len, thanks for coming by, glad you liked it. I may do another mix on this, I got a new software bass for Christmas that I need to get up to speed on, and I could try to repro the really nice bass loop here just as an exercise. It would just be a couple of minutes work to center the lead and bring it up as you and others have suggested. I liked your Dodgy Donut and commented on it over there.

Real blues feel in that guitar playing. It's always nice to jam along to such good recordings like the one you used here.

Great
Guitars on this track!! How do they get the horns to sound like that in those built in tracks? I bet their audio instead of midi. I love the guitar

Kudos!!

Hi Scott, thanks for dropping by glad you liked it. Yeah, all the Magic GB parts are loops. They probably hired a bunch of great players, and then chopped everything up :).

Hi Ego, thanks for coming by, glad you liked it. Yeah, this one was all about the fun. I may do another mix on this, I got a new software bass for Christmas that I need to get up to speed on, and I could try to repro the really nice bass loop here just as an exercise. After I get that done I'll remix the guitar. It was recorded as a "Guitar Track" in GB09, and all of the effects available to other types of tracks are not available here. However, I did find some basic reverb that I'll be applying in the next version

Nice addition
You've got those Blues guitar chops going on here Mr. Dave. Magic has been around since the 4th version of GB & I was hoping GB09 would have new Magic songs but the songs remain the same as GB08. You made it your own. Keep on keepin on,T
