Description
let's see...Paddy had a tune he started and never finished...tempie threw some vocals at it...Paddy did his one man band routine...and here we are. staying with that soul vibe we found on the dulcinea tune. hall and oates meet ian mcculloch at the stumble inn, drunkenness ensues, bastard children are conceived.

Lyrics
six o'clock in the morning babe
and you've got some place to be
you're running round the bedroom
like a stirred up bumble bee
a million miles an hour babe
you move too fast for me to see
what you mean to me
and do you even care?

it's about time
(wait a minute baby)
time, time, time

eight o'clock in the evening babe
you got some place to go
how i'm supposed to keep up with you
i don't know
a million miles an hour babe
you move too fast for me to see
what you're running from
and do you even care?

it's about time
(wait a minute baby)

I like the Maj7 chords
on the verses and the majestically midtempo "andante" atmosphere on this one!

The opening guitar chords are almost like an alarm clock--a perfect match to the opening of the lyrics and the "time" theme... I guess that was on purpose:). On second listen, I appreciate the vibe here even more. Handclaps on chorus #2 and #3 are perfect additions. Are those real drums? They sound awfully non-virtual... And vox are just right in their present but relaxed delivery. Very nice!

adante
she's got that song with ja rule right?

thanks for the close listen and glad you liked it - the drums are a GB loop that Paddy sliced and diced. relaxed bit of the vox courtesy of sam adams cream stoudt.

Like the description
It sounds quite "english" in a funny sort of way. Really catchy little quirky tune. Reminded me a little of XTC. One to download I think. Good stuff. Mark

The sound of cool regret
I'm really in to this. THat guitar solo just kicked in the door. VERY nice. The layered vocals are nice. Paddy did a wonderful job with the instrument choices. Exciting track!

Kickin' in the door
When we were working on this song Craig sent me an email saying "and in the break I want a typically dirty Paddy guitar solo" so I just did as I was told! Much to my chagrin, I am DVP's dirty secret, a wannabe shredder who can't play guitar all that well!
DVP seems to work because Craig's voice fits my arrangements to a tee - and I ain't complainin'!

Time
Love the groove with skanking guitar. Dig the dry vocals and that piano is infectous. And the bass really moves this song along.Nice build into the chorus. You guys have a great collab going.

Skanks ...
Yeah skanks we are! Funny you should mention the bass as this song (much of which was originally written late 2006 early 2007) was the very first time I picked up a bass guitar. I bought a dirt cheap Chinese manufactured electro-acoustic bass and that's what's playing here. It's slightly buzzy crapness lends the song colour!
Craig's vocals are a treat to work with. He sends me a dry track that I usally do very little with. On this occasion there isn't even any reverb, just a little on the overall master. His vocal control and his recording technique are amazing, it's a perfect instrument for DVP.

Kudzu...
If I knew what kudzu was I imagine I'd be pleased ...
Thanks for the comments, you're right, Craig delvers here once more. I quite enjoy being his band, arranger, producer and general dogsbody! When he is a global megastar, just remember, that guy in the background, face in shadow, playing the guitar is me ....

It's About Time
Like the drum groove, and the thumpin bass. The understated vocals evoke the mood of the lyric really well. The fuzzy lead guitar is cool. Nice job!

Drum groove
.. that drum groove gave me so many headaches. The song was originally written to a single loop, the main groove. Trouble is there wasn't a fill associated with it, not one! So I had to get creative with the editing and a bit of midi to give it some variation. It seemed to work though.
Glad you enjoyed.

Oh yeah this is good
quite a super group at work here and it shows. Excellent vocals and really fine relaxed production. Reminds me a bit of the late Vic Chesnutt. Very nice restrained lead break.

supergroup
humble pie or toto? glad you noticed the production bud. paddy, ever the gearhead, got this cool liquid mix 16 EQ emulator, and I think he used the 60's english desk plug in, he'll probably drop by to clarify but i'm with you, i think the production sounds sweet. can't wait to see what that thing can do to a more rockin number. thanks for dropping by...
