This is the result of a couple of hours' worth of messing around.
This is just a small relaxing piece of ... well... something...

A productive Couple of Hours
This is really nice and, yes, very calming. Love the depth of the marimba sound and how it fills the space all by itself.

Couple of hours? Wow
Gently flowing - your photo captures it well. The marimba is a nice touch here offset against the guitar (?) and the flute synth is as smooth as silk. There is a gamelan like riff you bring through this that gives it a faraway feel. A special place of peace to be sure. The new tonality at 2:16 with the shaker takes the whole feeling up a couple of notches. Lovely melodies!

Very cinematic
But you already noticed... I could visualize the ending. Busy voices from the next scene would blend in. After the sunny ride on the river under umbrellas and quiet laughter the scene will switch to the busy dock or something. Great piece of relaxing music. Nice picture too. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this. It doesn't seem as repetitive as my pseudo-classical works. Is this all loops and software instruments?

Thank you
This is all software instruments, but no loops. I generally try to avoid them, with the exception of the occasional percussion loop.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm with Graham...
...as regards the depth of the marimba sound... I'd like to see other MacJammers come and study at your feet the art of choosing really excellent samples or tone libraries or whatever you use.... Great tone, depth and ambiance... A very good sounding flute, and that seems to be an instrument that's easy to get "almost good" sounds from...

The composition sits neatly between the classical and the folk... That marimba and the shaker keep it from falling into anything cloying... And there's something doubling the marimba that sounds plucked, and that sounds good, too...

Despite your pictures of large vistas, this is a small scale composition, and charmingly so. I love the marimba (?) in the beginning. Unusual, but a great way to support the melody.
