i was thinking about throwing a verse from a song i wrote in 04' into this already... so it's perfect...i uploaded the old track again as it was deleted from the account... it's called a kid napping...

the backing track on this is from an icomp user named stebbo.... it's awesome stuff really...somewhere between indie hip hop and dare i say emo... no i take that back..

it was your birthday
the year was 03'
that date that place were so special to me
we got there and you were shakin' like a leaf
how was i to know
you were

to do what you wanna do
and you wanted to yeah..
looks like you've had enough
so if your ready now i'm taking you home

your free to do what you wanna do
in spite of everything i'm still in love with you
it's just another wall to overcome
and how was i to know

it's not far now
we're almost there
it's home tonight
we'll take it from there
one plane ticket
i guess your leaving here
how was i to know

lovely change when the verse vocal comes in! Nice wide stringish pad. I'd like the vocal to be louder over the heavily backed sections. Very nice drop to the piano at the end.

I agree w/WharmtonRise...
...that the vocals could be louder, especially in the thicker-textured sections.

Really wonderful choice of sounds, though -- love the tympani rolls!

Very expressive vocals.

Love the ending. Very final! ;-)

Full on sound
Lots of texture and interest in the arrangement. Bring the vocals (well sung!) forward a bit and this will be 100% killer.

Nice job Sean!
Nice pro sound, in an 80's kind of vein. Excellent vocals throughout!

Be well!

so long and thanks for all the
Man, that just sails when you jump on that chorus part. Huge vocals. Very much dig the whole vibe of the track. Mad keys when it jumps to double time.

set sail the relation ship
the song starts gently in the breeze, but when the sail unfurls at "Freee!" this thing jumps headlong into the swells. Nice pacing of the lyrics, great sound bed (although the overall volume seems low and the vox could be a little "fuller" via some EQ.) Overall, wonderfully crafted and sung expressively, and I admit I love the cliché door close at the end.

Lovely vocals
way too far back in the mix. You chose a terrific backing track, but your vocal sounds really good too. I think this is one you could definitely remix and get quite a powerful, crisper sound without too much trouble at all. Everything is there, just sounds a little flat. There's a note on the bells that sounds flat to me.
Great potential here.
Thanks for coming to the MJRFest!
