When you hold me close at night
I count my blessings and wonder.
Just how far down I’d have been
Had you not somehow found me.

And when you wake me from bad dreams
Your voice drives out the fears
And I cry out loud to the old grand plan
That lead me to your hand

So I’ll sing a hymn for the broken ones
Whose lives have long turned cold.
And say a prayer for the lost downhearted
Who walk the streets alone.

And when I see you from the stage
I know you’re how I’m here
Still playin ‘ songs and turning pages
It’s all so loud and clear.

You are easily...
one of the best song writers here. The solo you went out on was killer man.

Great arrangement, and instrumentation.
Very nice story line.
Very unusual guitar solo but fits near perfect . . .

great lyrics. conceptually reminds me of one of my all time favorite tunes, hank jr.'s "Blues Man". also really like the almost irish ballad structure, reminded me of the pogues, the song has great feeling, made me want to sing along.

Glad I found this song--beautifully done. The song is fully conceived and well executed for sure--the chorus rises up anthemically! You did a terrific job singing it too. I second Tempie's analogy of the guy from the Pogues--hopefully you have more teeth but you both have a great vocal tone.
