Description
Here's an updated version to Sarah's Song which I like better:
http://www.macjams.com/song/59710

This isn't about an ex-governor but about a strong young woman, widowed and alone in the young state of Wyoming - which coincidentally was the first in the Union to elect a female governor.

Sarah's Song
Charles - nice to see something new from you! this is some very lovely and well done orchestration. i see you're using LE - i'm JUST starting to learn that (finally). You have a real knack for getting the most out of your orchestral sounds - congrats on this great upload!

Thanks Karen,
I agree the orchestra sounds pretty full bodied. I'm not alway successful. Logic - at least for me is not a natural fit. But sometimes it takes pity on me.
Cheers,
Charlie

Charlie...
You are such a big sky composer. You bring such genuine Americana at it's best in these spacious works of yours. You can smell the air and feel the wind. Another wonderful living portrait ... I stand amazed indeed.

Sorry I am
so late to this Charlie, have a lot of catching up to do.
I could definitely imagine this as a theme to a western film or tv show. Conjures up that sort of expanse beautifully. Your music is becoming very recognisable as yours' to me and I am enjoying listening to them very much. Lovely.
Cheers

Coplandesque
There's an Aaron Copland quality to this piece (and others you have posted). You have a knack for capturing the American west using traditional European instrumentation. Beautiful work.

I'm
a fan of Aaron Copland who was not only a great composer but also very generous and supportive to younger composers as well. A great man.
Thanks my friend,
Cheers,
Charlie

Awesome song here
I love the expansive feel to this song. Almost feels like you are galloping across the open plain. Very much in the western tradition. Definitely could hear this in a movie. Excellent quality to the instruments except one. The only instrument that sounds very midi to me comes in at :51. Not sure what it is, maybe a horn of some type. I would tweak that one or find a suitable replacement with a more lifelike sound. I love the song though, great piece.

Yup
it's got that expansive Western thing going on which I'm partial to. The instruments you hear at .51 are French Horns. I love their sound but they are notoriously difficult at least for me to get just right. I'll keep working on them. I think I did improve their sound a bit in the revision to "Sarah's Song" which is posted on Macjams.
Thanks for the listen and the thoughtful comments crissew.
Cheers,
Charlie
