Description
Another "rough cut" from the front porch of Ricardo Lardo (Richard Schletty in another dimension).

Roxylee has now posted her own take on Jack's inspired poem about being saved by the blood of Christ. See and hear! http://www.macjams.com/song/60582

The lyrics are Jack's poem "Covered" (inspired by a terrible nightmare). The guitar track was recorded by Jack in a separate "moment" with his Zoom H2 digital recorder (with no intention of marrying his poem to his guitar track).

I took it upon myself to crisp up Jack's guitar track and overlay my baritone register, singing his words in a free-form manner.

I thank Jack and Roxylee for their ongoing inspiration in things related both to heaven and earth.

Lyrics
COVERED
[inspired by Romans 3:21-31]

The blood of Christ
It covers me

The blood of Christ
He died for me

My sin taken
His life given

No condemnation
He has risen

Declared now just
No merit mine

By grace now blessed
Free gift I find

A new heart given
Faith to obey

His yoke easy
Christ led each day

God of heaven
Yet Savior He

This soul, blood-sealed
Eternally.

this is a well thought out and executed take on Dadai's heart felt poem. I truly love the heart on this... the production is great and you have never sounded better.

Such a nice integration of the guitar
track with your vocals. I like the light tone you're getting on the higher notes, and the harmonies came out really nicely I think.

Did you really do this on the front porch? Sounds relaxing...

integration

Thanks, Michael. I spread the guitar a bit to make a space for my voice in the middle. Bass spectrum of guitar in left channel, mid and high range in right channel. Used EQ and pass filters. Also used compressor to liven or energize Jack's H2 recording. My art studio is on my 4-season front porch. It requires three space heaters on the coldest winter days. Ask Harold -- he visited here in January!

Poem, guitar, voice
a very good combination. Jack's guitar piece was good alone, and you did a sweet addition with it, His poem is simple, yet tells it all. Your voice and styling are sweet additions.

Lift high the cross.

I think you probably missed it because notice was sent to your hijacked Yahoo account (now deleted). Better change your contact email in your MJ prefs, assuming that function even works any more. The admins have been snoozing and losing here for about the past 3 years.

Not grumpy. Actually, very happy about the version of Covered Roxylee is about to upload!
