A song for anyguy who's driven past his ex-girlfriend's house.

Another one that grew from a few bars of a piano thing I had recorded into GB some time ago. I just started humming a tune that seemed to fit and then a few words popped in my mind that triggered the theme.

Did you know that it was over
Did you know that we were done
Did you know that I would forget about you
Pick up the pieces and move on

It's not true that I was criticizing
Everything about you was almost perfect.

I'm not concerned with where you are
I'm not concerned with the things that you do
I'm not concerned with who you're seeing
But who's that you were talking to

It's not my fault you were in the window
What were you doing up so late

I'm not obsessed with you
I'm not obsessed with what you do
I'm not obsessed with where you are
I don't think It's gone too far

Do you want to see my new thing
Do you want to go for tea
Do you want to talk about something else
Did you get the messages from me

It's not true that I was too controlling
I let you dress the way I like

I hope you don't mind me calling
I only get one call you see
I'm sure it wasn't you who called the police
Can I come and see you when I'm free

It's not true that I was too possessive
Those friends you had they just weren't right for you.

Outstanding song writing Troop
Excellent song that's kind of like a more serious version of "it's Me Again Margaret", only a much better song than that was.

Love the music and the melody is great, especially the chorus. Great track my friend.

Oh man
Great lyrics. I think most people will relate to those (maybe not the getting arrested bit) :)
I really like the overall feel and production of this. Really easy to listen to. Really nice work

man i really dig the vibe on this one
kind of late 70's radio ballad at first but then it turns more contemporary R&B but not derivative in any way, very much your own sound, especially factoring in the lyrics which are much smarter than the lyric normally associated with this kind of tune. Kind of like ben gibbard or eric elbogen writing for captain and tennille.
