Through The Garden (w/ DarkPlanet)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
Just a little whimsical tune with a touch of imagery. DarkPlanet (Tom) provided the cool guitar solo at the end and he came up with the title. Thanks Tom. I didn't like my working title.

Hope you have fun with this one and ENJOY!

Lyrics
Through The Garden

It doesn’t matter what you call it
Hydroponic, supersonic

Put it off another day
Your thoughts and wishes float away

Sign it on the dotted line
Have you met these friends of mine?

Walking pass you to the garden
Carry flowers to their mothers

But, I don’t mind
Cause I will find it out
Finding out…

Blowing smoke rings in a bag
Memories are fading fast

Calmly calling Clementine
She’s been one good friend of mine

Met her at a masquerade
Can’t recall the time of day

Picking flowers with a knight
Serenade by candlelight

But, I don’t mind
Cause I will find it out
Finding out…

Quirky
And very catchy. Very memorable melody going on. Really like the lyrics to this, kind of random but conjure up great images as you said. Love the bass and a super solo at the end.
Nice one.

I like whimsical....
and I like this musical stroll through the garden. Or floating through... dreamlike garden.

I like the guitar solo at the end with the piano backing... nice idea.

Very Cool
A lot of XTC quirkiness and melody here. The echo on the lead vocal adds some cool 60's vibe. Nice loose and lazy groove.

Fade out
Surreal lyrics over simple jumpy music. I don't know why it sounds like shiny happy things hiding something dark.
The guitar tone in the solo is perfect. I specially like the first part of it.

Hydroponic
At times this would fit perfect on Sgt. Peppers. Especially during "finding out". The piano is perfect, and that bass is right on point. And the mix is great. More room than usual, which is perfect for this tune.

thanks eric

Oh yeah!
Whimsical indeed! man I really LOVE the vocal on this one. Not just the way it is performed, but even the way it sits in the mix. Simply superb...

And kudos to Tom for that lead solo. He nailed the spirit of this piece!

Be well friends!

Tom nailed it indeed
When he sent me the file I misplaced it in the mix and sounded horrible, and then I realized what was wrong and it fit just right.

Thanks for the compliment regarding the vox, too.

Dave thanks for letting me play on this!
I loved this trippy song from the get go, it has a melting LSD quality to it. I'm not a solo type of guy so you get props for giving a rhythm guitarist a spot on such a cool song!!
Cheers!

Solo
Even John Lennon got to do a lead once in a while. You did an excellent job, take that as one rhythm guitarist to the other.

Fun song

And thanks Tom

2 of my favorite MJers this is so trippy, I prefer hydroponic crazy how you get so low in the bass tones with your voice, Tom is rocking it at the end there while the piano just bangs away ! great song!
