Description
This song is a collage of garageband loops and effects with vocal and harmonies. The lyrics are from another poem my dad wrote several years ago. I don't know what genre to put this in.

Lyrics
Unknowingly - (Music - ConnieO; Lyrics - Robert Orlando)

We slip so gradually, we don't see the change
We slip so gradually, we don't see the change
It's like the glacier progressing 'cross the range
It grounds the highest mountain into the lowest plain.

(We slip so gradually)

We slip so gradually, we don't see the change
You may see me as selfish and unconcerned (I'm selfish...)
I may see you a miser man unlearned
Too many thoughts in the distance to blame
We slip so gradually we don't see the change (change, change, change...)

We slip so gradually

All the failures that you have seen (too many failures!)
Were once respected held high in esteem
Hey, you may fail and there's no one to blame
We slip so gradually we don't see the change

We slip so gradually, we slip...
We slip so gradually, we slip...

Nice Collage
The electric piano is very Steely Dan. Great poem. Great vocal, very Joni Mitchell. Compliments to both you and Dad.

knowing what to expect....
After all, it is a ConnieO song :-) I like the tickly synths and guitar loops in here, but mostly I like hearing your voice washing across it all, with the echoes, making this dreamy and thought-provoking... good to hear another from you! Nice lyrical poetry from your father.

Unknowingly
Actually we live so short a time we don't notice changes , evolution needs many many years to notice that we are going to something different and better suit to confront life. That's why your dad was so right when taken by this thoughts and the result was this nice song.congratulations to you both.

nice
wow, very cool tune. You did a great job on the music bed. It's not a s easy to work with loops as some may think but you were very artful about it. The final result is fresh, unexpected and very cool. The vocals were outstanding. Then you did have a great poem to work with Love the echoing background especially. Nice job!

nancy gordon
at 1:10 in - the tone sonority really changes -
and a slowly phased rich rhodes is the way I like it best - beautiful picking reminding us of nancy wilson's and gordon lightfoot's technique. Your voice' tone timbre is already great and then comes the added bonus of an uplifting vibrato

Well Done
Or quite rare. Nice job! When did dear old dad write this? Yeah I get it - how did I become so old all of a sudden, failure and mistakes are part of being human.
