I visited a place called Thirlmere which is a reservoir that supplies water to Manchester among lakes in the lake district uk,we were on our way back from Keswick Jazz Festival and I'd seen it down there and persuaded my girl we should go explore. We were alone and it was one of those places I wished I had a big amplifier and player to listen to some Clannad tunes or Jethro - or basically any music you like there.Like a blank canvas you could project any style/culture/subject matter onto and fully appreciate/sense.

It was great.Anyway the other day I spent some money on a luxury (not usually anything I can think of these days - well a friend,a hill,a cig,and a beer - is heaven to me either individually but special together,oh but a good friend is..more than anyone can ask for) - and I bought an old book of haunted places in Britain - and Thirlmere was in there.

Having just visited the place I was quite inspired by reading that the lake had a ghost story attached to it in regards to the hamlet of Armboth being drowned beneath the lake. There are many such stories in and around the world, and this one just grabbed me.

So I started these new age tracks as way of setting up my own 'clear clanvas' inspired by that landscape.yadda yadda

But it also harks back to the psychedelic part of 'close to the edge' YES and that instinct to be born into the light - which throughout my life, the memory has been vivid and contains similar colours as I manipulated into This Quick Animation which is a recurring fractal tinted orange, blood, skin colour type affair!
