Lyrics
The light is fading on the frosty river bank
The Heron stands attentive where the old canal boat sank
But as I glance across the water
All my thinking is of you

Well he has his arms around you
And you're feeling quite secure
And he's saying that he loves you; but
you never can be sure

Why did he leave me?
You constantly sigh
And in the leaving
Can you tell me why he cried;
You've got to get into yourself
It's just another English Dream

Acoustic works, Folkish, too
Thanks for directing us over here. The break at ~2:17 was startling, but rides well. Could I suggest just a tiny bit of fade in on the violin parts? It sounds a tad high in the mix.

This a really neat tune, enjoyed!

Still WIP really.....
Hi Harold,

Yup - that break is suppose to come as something of a surprise :-)

The track is part of a selection of tunes called 'On the Fiddle' which will become a album when we 100% sort out the mastering - including how to deal with violin levels!

Cheers - JC

Nice melody and I really like the guitar accompaniment. I agree with Harold regarding the violin volume. I do like the uptempo section starting at 2:17.

One thing I'm not sure of is the effects and panning on the vocal. It sounds processed. Set against the "right in the room" guitar and violin it just seems strange. Although the vocal performance itself is very good.

I look forward to the final mastered version.

Genre?
What about "Jethro Tull"? A compliment btw.

This is really nice and reminds me very much of the above artists. I too look forward to hearing a final mix.

Excellent.

Too old...
.....to rock and roll, but too young to die :-)

Listened to a lot of Tull back in the day - so def. take it as a compliment :-)
