Lyrics
Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black
And I held my tongue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the NOs on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
'cause we'll hold each other soon
In the blackest of rooms

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the No's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

I really like the lyrics, the chorus particularly.

"If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark" (good stuff)

I like the simple guitar accompaniment. The song holds up nicely in such a sparse arrangement. I think you may want to work at getting better takes of both the vocal and guitar. You may want to consider dropping the key a whole step. At times you sound like you're straining a bit.

i don't have to strain... it's how i imagine my vocals but listening to it now i could just be fluid throughout... i could try dropping it down though your right... thanks for the suggestion...

I Really...
Dig Death Cab, you did a good job covering it.

Ben has always been such a poet. Him, conor oberst, and tom waits have always been a lyrical inspiration for me.

Vocal "rocks"
I agree with Dani, you sang it just right. Your vocal is you and very unique. Wow...you have one of those voices that as soon as you open your mouth it's "that's sean!"

Art
Guitar Sound Cuts perfectly.
It delivers a Mellow effect.
Overall feeling like some of Art Garfunkle's more uplifting works.
