Description
I love me some dub-step, especially the dark, nasty visceral kind. It is fascinating to me that at the heart of dub step is reggae, a music associated with good feelings and sunshine although later turned into powerful protest music by Bob Marley and the Wailers. Over the years producers and dj's have twisted reggae up. squeezed out some of the happy go lucky aspects of the music and added darkness and mystery...kind of like in Lord of the Rings mythology where (correct me if i am wrong) the orcs were once elves but got twisted up by the ring or whatever.
A mix of funk, dub, rock, jazz and funk elements. I substituted wah guitar for the synth wobble element. Twisted up some beats and randomly triggered(Ableton users know what I mean) a bass loop at the end. Its a long one, I hope you will indulge me. The only loop use are the drums and the bass loop. finalized in Logic. Sorry for the novel.

Mad
and mighty. This is a dark mix, but that is the kind of thing i really like. Bob did the occasional dark song himself and it was those i preferred. Very interesting piece of music, the guitar seems heavy enough for you to included a bit of metal in your genre pool. The drums are sounding a bit too much in some places.

excellent
loving the sonic quality of this. that wobble synth is pretty intense. i like the bizarre chords/sax section a bunch too. very cinematic through and through. nice use of panning. i could go on, but suffice to say: this is great. like seeing some adventurous music here at MJ.
