Andrew,
You are too kind. I was surprised when they chose my piece as so many artists submit. This is a great exposure since there are really no limitations on the way you produce the music. So loops, acoustic performances, synthesized or electronic or any other form of production is acceptable. It just has to be exactly 60 seconds long. This version cheats in that it is just over 60 seconds (62) for the MacJams forum so that the room echo has a chance to die.

Chinese wolves at the door
One of the wonderful auto-gen tools in the ic42 workshop, I love wolframtones. Very nicely reshaped into a pleasantly Asian flavor. Great choice of instruments and drum swells, nicely done, and congratulations on being accepted, that is VERY cool!

Drak,
Yes it frequently gives you the the hint of a cool theme amidst the random generations. Its the guitar players equivalent of finding a cool chord series that then develops into a song. I am just anticipating the Asian flavor that will make its way into your writing as a result of the upcoming trip to China. Bon Voyage!

Dani,
The biggest challenge was making it exactly 60 seconds long. I did it, but only by cutting off the decay of reverb at the end of the song. That didn't matter in the mix, but stand alone, it sounded clipped. So, here I let it ring out for an additional 2 seconds. Thanks again for stopping by.

Congratulations Stephen
Very well done sir! A beautiful tune, no doubt about it. There's a nice vibe to this that made me stop and actively listen. Not something I'd normally listen to but... well, it had your name on it! Felt really refreshed after listening too.
No wonder they liked it! Best of luck mate.

I have to blush
When folks like you and Drak are so appreciative of my work. You guys are real musicians and your grasp of orchestration and instrumentation is way beyond my ken at this point. I am an instinctive musician and just fool around with impressions. When people will tell me what they hear or don't hear in my music, it usually open my eyes and I learn. Thanks you.

I have to give some credit to Drakonis as he turned me on to Wolfram Tones. Its a great spot to explore scales modes and their possibilities. Thanks for your kind support.

Dick,
Lucky for me almost all my pieces are one liners so, to speak (LOL). One of these days I'll have to do a piece that exceeds the 4:00 minute mark and that will be my "War & Peace"(Piece?). Thanks again.

So complex
yet easy to discern every instrument in this intricate tapestry of sound. I have listened now several times because there is just so much to hear...and to learn from your orchestration. I think this is a very intriguing composition, a far cry from the less "serious" I have been listening to this evening...If you ever get a moment, I would love to know what string patch you are using. It sounds particularly real... Thoroughly enjoyed this composition.

Paul,
Thanks so much. I will PM you since it has been a while, but I use Garritan Personal Orchestra. I like the way they put together their package and it is not expensive. I can always build my own sections or orchestra, but they have great presets. Also, I have found every expression except gliss, which I am supposed to b able to do, so one day I will research that issue.

Thanks. That's high praise coming from you. I try and broaden out my toolset, but I am pretty limited when it comes to music and composition. Used to rock and roll mostly. Although growing up I did listen to a lot of 40's era and classical music.
