The Return Journey

I'd written the description and then lost it so here it is again.....I hate computers!!!!

There's an expedition to Vega, just over 25 light years away, to view a possible newly formed planet roughly 12 times bigger than Jupiter. The soundscape starts as the journey home is underway. The onboard computers return various crew members to consciousness as the time passes and the soundscape is my idea of the newly awakened crew member's view on reality after being unconscious for any length of time. It takes time to get up to speed and what they hear and experience in this new awakening is depicted through my Ambient mix.

The piece is a tad under 12 minutes so listen for a long or short period of time as you wish. The further into the mix, the more odd 'other sounds' appear, so its your call.

Your thoughts are always important to me.

This is quite nice anf fit to your description. It IS rather long without any dramatic changes over time, but on the other hand it's very meditative and, well, space is a vast place and what is 12 minutes there and then...

Take care,

Hi Henke.....
I thought about more changes throughout the mix but those people coming out of reefer sleep will be disoriented and sluggish so the piece has to depict that in any way that it can.

Lights, sounds, activities will all be registered and executed more slowly until normality kicks in, if it ever does in these circumstances. They would be better off programmed for the activites they do rather that being relied upon to wake up with all guns blazing from the get go.

Take care.

I did float off my seat while listing to your wonderful mix, very dreamy, makes you think nice thoughts, has a nice feel, the bell pushes the mix along nicely and the sky pad keeps it together, i love that Steam/air sound in the back ground ?
keep up the good work and thanx for sharing..

Space is deep
I listened from front to back. A scene right out of "Alien" then. I thought the tinkling bell sound in the background was clever. And the whispery voices, I can imagine hearing the other crew members talking in the background, but I can't make out what they're saying, kind of a half-asleep half-awake disorientation. Nicely done.

Oh how I know all about losing everything once it's written. It happens all the time when I use my iPhone.

I always enjoy listening to your pieces, they are so airy & wonderful. I like the progression here, very spacey. Great work, Paul!
