Lyrics
Amazing Grace

by John Newton (1725-1807)

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me.

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.

And Grace, my fears relieved.

How precious did that Grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers,
toils and snares
I have already come;

'Tis Grace hath brought me safe thus far

and Grace will lead me home.

When we've been there ten thousand years

Bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise

Than when we'd first begun.

Rich tones!
Maybe that should be your moniker instead of Ricardo Lardo (LOL). Really though this recording has captured the subtleties of of your voice. Nice even baritone. Very well done Richard! ( . . . and Paul).

Rich Tones

I like that - Rich Tones. Probably better than Sonority (another moniker I have used). Altogether better than Ricardo Lardo. Thanks. Stephen M.

Amazing Grace (w Paul F. Page)
Loved the chord changes in the intro right away. This flows effortlessly. Rich clear vocal. Nice piano accompaniment. I know personally what a joy it is to hear Paul add his own special grace and beauty to a track. Man, does he know how to arrange woodwinds.

Amazing arrangement
Andrew: Yes, Paul did a great job. He picked the key and my voice range was perfect for it. Pau F. certainly has the tools!

Sweet Alternate Tuning
Leave it to Paul to come up with with a refreshing take on this warhorse... And your voice, as always, is rich :-) despite being in the attic. Great mix.

Sweet alts
I love Paul's arrangement, too. The only thing I miss is the sus4 at the end of each verse. Thanks, Drak.

Richard, I didn't know you were here. Hiding behind a svelte pseudonym. You're looking good. Escape the flooding this time?

Tobin, I never get flooded out. I'm always on high ground, far above the Mississippi (but only blocks away from the bluffs). Good to hear from you, friend. Hey, I wrote another poem or four.

I just watched the
film of the same name as this, and IF the film is to be believed as a factual account of things in the days of Pitt and Wilberforce then this was written by an ex-slaveship captain.Never knew that.Cool version here Ricardo, nice job.

The movie
Oh, man. I could have had that DVD in hand for cheap. Saw it at a rummage sale a couple weeks ago. I only had a few pennies left in my pocket at the time. Had to buy toys for the grandkids instead. Interesting...I'll have to do more research on the song. Thanks.
