Katie had this mix of vocal and bass on her Myspace. I downloaded it and added drums, rhythm and lead guitar, and some synth. I could never get her to send me the separates, so this is as far as it went. She seemed to like what i did. Just one of those things that could have been. I did this much and moved on like I always do...

I wake up strange
Is it just make believe, can we see?
I call on the phone
No sanity left in me, I'm alone

I lie in bed
The vacant spaces inside my head
With an empty page you came
With empty words I hold back my rage

I wake up strange,
I wake up changed

Now can you feel
The shrieking shout strapped inside my mouth
Now can't you see
I'm caught the in spider webs in me

I'm still reaching
The abyss of my soul
And I'm told, life isn't fair
Unleash my memories when I'm scared

I wake up strange,

strange places yeah

I woke up strange

that lead guitar...
...is so tasty - such amazing tone and colourfully 'liquid' playing. actually, I'm floored by this; great work. Katie's vocal performance is also outstanding; that little bend at 1:26 is beautiful.

Katie is such a good singer
It's just too bad I couldn't get her more involved. She seemed to love the outcome, but it was just a hint of what could have been. Haven't seen nor heard from her in a couple years after this and probably won't. Ah well onward and upward. I wish her well.

Thats sad
This could have been taken further and made really really cool. It's pretty neat as it is. Nicely done with what you were able to do!

Nice song. She's got a good voice. Nice lead guitar line & tone. The effect on the guitar on the intro & outro is interesting. Backwards processing?

Yes it's the guitar played backwards.
I wanted, to work on the bass. It kinda flapped the speakers.

Very nice
Too bad about Katie's not wanting to take it further: sounds to me like it could well have been (as you say).
