It has been quite some time since I have posted here, so I'll try this one last time... Another dance track that I created from scratch (as usual) using my usual gear. The German isn't very well spoken, but I liked the effect it gave this track, so I left it as-is. Thank you for coming by and any and all comments are greatly appreciated. I hope you enjoy my latest creation. Thanks!

One last time...
Thank you so much, Mark! I've been here at MJ for many years and I can remember a time when I used to get lots of great feedback on my productions here. It has been longer than I can remember, since I have gotten much constructive crits on my work, here. I am always looking to improve my skills and learn as much as I can from the many talented musicians on this site, but it seems like a majority of the people I used to get so much good input from, never seem to come by any more. I used to be able to spend a lot of time on MJ in the past, so maybe since I am not able to be around as much lately, people tend to move on. I also know that my music (although still dance music) has evolved over the years, hopefully for the better. I always look forward to finishing a track that I have put many hours into and posting it here for all to enjoy.

Also, I loved coming here in the past when it was just about the music. It seems in the past year or two, MJ forums have become a sounding board for politics. To me, this site is about the music. Sharing ideas, collaborating, meeting new people, keeping in touch with old MJ friends and generally doing what we love, which is writing music. I don't think I will ever leave permanently, but I have significantly slowed-down my posting here lately. I think I just need a break for a while and maybe occasionally stop by to see how things are going, read interesting music-related posts in the forums etc. Anyway, thank you very much for stopping by and commenting on my track, Mark! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Take good care and keep on writing those cool tracks! :-D

You still make good music to move to.
Boris, perhaps you don't get constructive criticism any more because you absorbed all the suggestions over those years (or at least considered and rejected them) and the only person here, now, who can critique your work to your satisfaction, is you.
I hope that doesn't make you withdraw your wonderful talents because I, for one, would miss my sporadic fixes of new Boris Luxx.

Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words! I often times get far too critical about my own music and strive for perfection (as with just about everything in my life). But, I end up doing it to a fault, as we are just human and humans are incapable of absolute perfection. It is something I have been working on over the years, because the drive for perfection started to genuinely effect my life and the people in it. I'm thinking it may have been a touch of OCD as well, which can be maddening to those around you. Anyway, basically I just look for critiques on things like production, structure etc. I still don't feel very confident as far as song structure goes, but I manage. Haha! Maybe that's just my brain trying to spoil my fun again, though.

Like I had mentioned above to Mark; I don't think I will ever leave MJ and if I did, I would certainly leave all of my music posted for everyone to enjoy. I think it would be very selfish of me to remove my music, if I did decide to leave permanently. But, I think I will stick around MJ, only to a limited degree. I do have some great people here that appreciate what I write and I don't want to deny them of that. Thanks again!

hi Boris - I just read the comments so far, and what you said to Mark about MJ. I hope you'll stick around - your music is so good, and your skills shine through this track! this is a genre i can't begin to comprehend composing in - this puts me somewhat in the mind of parts of the "run lola run" soundtrack. thank you!

right then Mr. Luxx .....
Your work is stellar ... always. I wish I could feed the "Critic Need" but I can't cos every post from you just drops my jaw. This one included. Think the German sounds great in the track. Ya know...."Dance Club" is an appropriate genre I guess but your work kinda goes past it I think...anyway... stellar track Sir. Stick around... maybe you are a bit in "teacher" mode instead of "student" now .... I never try and skip your class.... and btw...you are total class.

Many, many thanks to you davisamerica! I had not realised that you were such a big fan of mine. I know dance music is a genre that may not get a lot of respect, but it's a genre I know and can relate to, ever since my days in high school and going to dance clubs. I listen to and appreciate ALL kinds of music, but my preferred style is dance, as it seems to just come to me much easier than ambient, classical, jazz, rock etc. Although, I would LOVE to be able to write in any one of those styles!

Like I have mentioned above; I will be here at MJ, but on a limited capacity. My life is very busy and I have limited time available to do things that are fun. Haha! Usually my free time is spent writing, but not everything I start ends up getting finished. I think I have 20 projects in the works, but only about 3 of those will I ever finish. Time: there never seems to be enough of it. Thank again, so very much for all of your kind words, man! They mean a great deal to me! :-D

I was just thinking
the same as Richard and Jack. What could you expect in ways of constructive critisism, when you are the master yourself?! Your stuff's sure way beyond me anyway, but I do enjoy your posts, not the least this one, with the good old german vibe and all.

But take your time. Don't post unless you really want to, you will be remembered and listened to when you choose to post. I didn't post for a year and people still came by to listen, and I am not even very active in the social life of the site (which seems to help if you like to get many comments). If you (or anyone) choose to spend your time making music rather than comment on other people's songs that is not only understandable but maybe even "recommendable", at least for one of your caliber.

With this said I do hope that you're staying and keep on posting songs. If you choose not to, I've got some 58 Borisluxx tracks in my iTunes playlist so I should be good for some time ;-)

So again, Thank you for all these contributions to the site. They sure are pretty awesome.

Take care,

Head Room
I love the way you manage to create so much clarity on the various intruments and more so creating that ever important headroom above the track where everything just seems to push itself above the parapet when its required to do so, a skill i have yet to master! Do stick around, you clearly are inspiration to other creatives. Seems like you have bettered yourself from being here and the comments you seek are not the ones you were looking for in the early days. Have you tried posting your music on other sites like - MySpace, PureVolume etc? Thanks for this one though, nice1.
