cool
this is very cool

how are you selecting notes to play? by ear, or is there a "scale" or some theory behind it?

thanks

Thanks, Bill. I do work from theory. I set up chord progressions which are relationship based then work the melodies in around those. I'm very much into mathematical music. Math, for me, is like tripping sometimes :-). Of course, there is an emotional component conjured up with any kind of music and I try to immerse myself in that as I search for the right sounds and melodic bits.

a chorus of notes
beautiful washes and unique-but-satisfying progressions. however, the chorus effect on some of the tracks de-tracted from the clarity of the microtonal scale you propose here. an engaging listen. Nice southern spiral galaxy of sounds.

Thank you, ic42 (love that moniker.. I'm a big fan of the Hitchhiker's Guide) I agree with you. I'm still learning about production in Logic Pro. I had to get rid of some pops and clicks in the original version and it seems to have washed it all out a bit too much. This particular set of notes wasn't terribly microtonal though. F,C,&G are set at +20 cents and Ab,Eb,&Bb are set at -20 cents. If you want to hear something even more micro, check out my tune Black Salt - White Pepper... also in 60 tone equal temperament.

Hi Magnatone, Thanks. See my reply just posted above. I'm happy to attempt a further explanation if you really want to delve deeper into my warped brain. :-)

Coolness
I don't know a thing about music theory and such, I just know what I like. And, I like this...Very trippy & cool.

You know
I know less than a dust mote. I think you have a bouncy tune here as if sirens in space were playing harps with what might pass for toes. Thanks.
