Lyrics
Show us the way to go home
by lantern light
dancing on this night-dark path
by pale moonlight

Steal us away this eve
From mortal coil
Take this bread, salt and , wine
Annoint me with oil

Won't you please, spirit me away.

One hundred chanted prayers
smoke filled goodbyes
An end to endless toil
but not to life.

Seek out the softest strains
Ghost drums and fife
Once dim eyes see again
In gold feast light

Won't you please, Spirit me away..

carry me down the hill
to the reaping stone
Leave my gifts with me there
the blood and the bone

One last crisp autumn night
and star studded sky
as eyes eyes close for one last time
a whispered cry

Won't you please, spirit me away…
(Yes)
Won't you please, Spirit me away
(yes)

Thanks
I've been working on my singing lately. It's harder when you don't have a live band to loudly cover up your mistakes.

drums
the drums are perfect in this number. the soundbed would make an excellent soundbed for a hip hop song. really great use of the asian instruments. excellent production as well.

Asian influenced
Hi Adam. Listening to this reminds me of the differences between my song writing (acoustic guitar derived) and someone who has a far broader musical repertoire to call upon. Great Asian influence with a hint of Bowie in the vocals. Another really strong MJ contribution. Fantastic. Take care, Peter

Far and wide
Actually I began learning music by playing guitar as well. I have a passion for traditional music of all types though, and I enjoy using it to color up my compositions. Bowie huh? Haven't heard that one before. Cool beans.

Very Cool
The music has such a great exotic feel to it. Your vocals sound awesome, you should sing more often!

Interesting
Cool low range your voice has. This is good. Almost medieval and asian at the same time. Enjoyed it!

Lantern Light
I can't tell if that's cello or double bass down there starting at about :16 . . . . but it's very cool. The Asian sounds at 1:22, and again later, are brilliant! Love that touch. I really like your singing voice . . . very easy to listen to. You sound an awful lot like the guy in Depeche Mode, actually.

Thanks!
Technically I'm an immature Basso Profundo according to a friend who teaches vocals. She says that Most men with this range don't fully develop it until 35 or so. At thirty, I've got another five years to find the entirety of it. Interestingly I can speak certain tones that I' can't sing yet. The "yes": note for example. I could speak it fine, but singing it is really hard.
