One Day

 Genre: Rock (instrumental)

Although this is listed as an instrumental It's actually a tune minus it's vocal. Originally recorded in 1994 on a Fostex X15 4-track recorder, 'One Day' has been resurrected courtesy of my cousin who found this recoding (minus the lead vocal) whilst converting all his old cassettes to digital. I guess this is where I apologise for the sound quality (hiss, wow and flutter) due to the ageing analogue tape recording. This piece actually makes me smile because it contains a guitar solo that reminds me how I used to play guitar - when I played a lot more. I'm not sure i could play that solo these days. So, I hope you enjoy this little curiosity from my past - before we has access to digital recording etc.

Hot and cool
Yeah, practice more! How could you not want to play like that again? Well, maybe you can, and you're being modest. Smoking hot leads riding on a cool and catchy groove. Much enjoyed it ... or ... enjoyed it much.

This is neat...
...and I think it sounds great, too...

I used to have an X-15. It seemed magical when I first got it. Had a Quadraverb, too... Never got anything sounding this good, though....

Thanks for posting this. I'm really enjoying it...

I like the vibe
on this. Could be sung as light rock piece, funky rock or evens soft rap. Lots of options here. Enjoyed it!

One Day
Thanks for the sneak peak at Pie circa 94. The playing is cool and I can hear that Pie song structure working its magic.

Funky groove, nice changes. Cool guitar lines, and they work well together. Killer lead break.

Hair on Fire...
...from that guitar solo. Not that your guitar playing is anything to sneeze at normally, but holy wow! I've had a little theory for a long time that you had a secret musical life before recording in your spare room and this really seems to confirm it. You play like a pro, sir. Whether you ever were or not, you should have been.

For analog
it sounds really good. I know what you mean about play time. Music was so much easier for me when I played in a band but it usually involved covers and not enough time for originals. Thanks for sharing... Enjoyed.
