Description
Ok, so I am getting ready to release my first ambient album, under the alias Danti Hobri. I have all the music finished (some of which I have already posted here), but today I thought the whole album was missing a little introduction. I've put together this short, odd little thing to give the listener an idea of what they're in for on this record.

Hehe
Yeah, well, it IS kind of odd, but may work well as an introduction. I like that transition from a slightly muddy voice to a clear synth-soundscapey aaaahhhhh (or is it ooohhhh?). Depending on what comes next I could hear that tone growing even further and longer, but hard to tell from a stand alone. Looking forward to the album. Actually one I could see myself buying (and I am not buying a lot, I'm pretty happy with what I get here at MJ :-)

Thanks and good luck with the album!

thanks, Henke
I'll let you know when everything's done and I'm releasing the full album. The voice in the soundscapey thing is all based on the last note of the muddy strumming thing, so I guess it's a 'haiiiiiiiiggggghhhhh' :)

Interesting approach. Seems like a great lead in. What an amazing transition into the swell at 1:15. Sets you up to be entering a brand new world of consciousness. I like the EQ transition, too, from muddy to clear. Thanks Dan. Let me know when the new CD is released!

Thanks, dude
You've nailed it there, I wanted the transition to feel like the ground was giving way and (aural) landscape was opening up to a massive and unimagined expanse; like walking up to the edge of a cliff. Thanks for the listen and comment, man.

hey James
I've been working on the transition this morning, the one I uploaded here was just too abrupt. still, I'm glad the idea comes across.

This is very cool. Piece starts real low and laid back, then the ambient rush comes in - not what I was expecting to be sure, which is exactly the point isn't it? As an introduction I think this works really well. Nice work, Dan -

I grew up on Dire Straits, Def Leppard, Phil Collins, Paul Simon, and Eric Clapton. Then I discovered heavy metal. [long pause] Did the post-rock thing for a while, thinking my 'tortured' soul could could only express itself in chaotic guitar crescen... [see more]
