Ynys Enlli [remix]

 Genre: Ambient

I've been wanting to remix this for a while, but have only just got around to doing so. It's not so very different, I just fixed some wrong notes near the end and altered some of the note velocities on one of the synth voices. It's essentially the same tune. I've left the original up because there were some really nice comments thereon. I like to go back now and again and read them! Is that so bad? I wish actually, you could just replace the old with a new version, but you can't.

FYI, Ynys Enlli is a small Island, [called Bardsey in English] which is off the coast of North Wales. A very magical place and one I would like to go back to some day.

Thanks for listening, and thanks to all the people who were kind enough to comment last time.

Lovely and peaceful.
This must be a beautiful island.

I've also wished I could update a song with a better mix or performance while keeping the original comments. I can see the logic of not allowing a song to be changed after uploading, though.

A few years back, I worked with a music program called Ejay. They had this cool section called "Spheres". This reminds me of those sounds, very airy & pretty. Wonderful piece.

A thing of beauty. The voices sound like they're coming from inside a cathedral, deep. Contrasted against the more intimate sounds, there's a full 3D panoramic and majestic soundscape. I believe that you've outdone yourself. Inspiring.

after listening and looking at the cover art this time, it dawned on me that this music kind of reminds me of Riven/Myst (check it out at youtube) with the exception, of course, those islands are cursed:P

float away
I didn't get round to listening to the first posting so can't comment on any changes.
This a a really lovely and relaxing piece of music. I was thinking your stuff should be on the NHS for stressed out people.
I didn't realise I was feeling uptight until I played this and I felt all pressure just ease away from me.
Anyway, great stuff and thanks for the download
I'll have to try and get to Ynys Enlli sometime

A tension breaker
Hi Dave, I know how you feel in relation to the frustration in posting a slightly tweaked version as a new song. That said, the soothing tones and almost angelic textures that you give us in this song are enough to smooth away any tension that is around. This will be a great addition to my iPod. Thanks. Warm regards, Peter.

I remember this Dave, and to be honest, can't really pick the differences between this and the earlier post. However, I love this version as much as the previous - just great sounds and a real feeling of the sea for me.
Hope you're felling better soon.
Cheers from Oz,

Aren't I
lucky to find a place where I can, with the mere click of a finger, find peace and beauty in the form of music made by a master? Thank you for this, with gratitude for sharing your gift and your vision.

a while since you posted Dave, so it's nice to hear something of yours again. This is lovely, moody, dark, mysterious and very spacious with more than a touch of the spiritual about it. Excellent work, regards M
