Description
Every so often, I need some inspiration to make something. This isn't my finest work by any stretch, but when I saw this commercial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWS0GVOQPs0), it was calling out to me to make something. So, I grabbed some quick clips and threw this together. No malicious intent and, if you believe there is, perhaps you should first argue with the legitimate (and 16-year old boy with a cheesy mustache) PSA that airs every single day.

Changing the title...
...doesn't change the sound bytes. I'm sorry you cannot get beyond the title, but I won't be changing it. I'm not a gay-basher and don't judge people on being gay, including family and friends. If they can appreciate this without thinking me a bigot, surely others can see beyond the title as well.

that's so gay
very clever and cool commercial...about time too. what was your motivation for 'throwing this together'? is it a subject that is close to you? (you didn't say). if you had written some lyrics to go along with this that somehow commented on the subject or that were analogous to something else then that might be interesting....but just sampling something and sticking some repetitive beat behind it seems rather unedifying and dull...regardless of what the subject matter is - i mean once you've seen the commercial you've heard everything there is to hear in the track...right? i'm sure you're not a bigot (who would ever admit to being a bigot?), and i can't see any reason why anyone would find this offensive, but you might as well have sampled an ad saying "DHL deliver to anywhere in the world"....with or without the drum loop.

i really don't see what there is to 'get' here - you just sound like a teenager who's discovered something he doesn't understand and finds it titivating in some way. the idea that people find sexual orientation 'funny' is something i don't get...but then my mind is generally consumed with more interesting subject matter (i hope!).

thanks for posting all the same - it's good to see that someone in america is trying to change its regressive attitudes towards this subject (i mean the woman in the ad of course). over here in england we have a DJ called chris moyles who is a more corpulent, older version of the cheesy moustache kid in this ad. he is constantly disseminating the 'so gay' fashion-speak to the uneducated masses - and as a result, bullying continues in schools and adults are discriminated against in the work-place etc. chris moyles does it because he's got low self-image, wants to be 'down' with anyone who'll have him, and isn't very sociologically progressed. i'm not saying that the same might apply to you also...it's just that I'm not really getting any kind of enlightenment on the subject by listening to this 'track'.

no malicious intent here either.

Funny...
...because if I sound like a teenager to you for making this, you sound like a teenager to me for thinking this PSA is amazing. Every PSA I've seen since I'm a child has had "good intentions," but is generally executed in a VERY cheesy manner. Guess what? This one's no exception. I guess all those Johnny Depp "This is your brain on drugs" commercials, where he used eggs and a frying pan as a metaphor really was heart moving for you.

I was just having fun here and the non-uptight enjoyed it for what it was — having fun with a silly commercial. The Hilary Duff one is even worse, but I happen to like Wanda Sykes, so I chose her commercial because at least she put some emotion in.

At the end of the day, if my gay cousin can enjoy it, I suppose I don't have to worry about some stranger in England taking offense.

Ok
well allright ya got me... Iam a bigot. And also trepidatedly clicked on the song... gay, uh oh... will I be accused of being a phobe if I like it... but then I see a intelligent conversation ensued... wow, we can talk to each other, after all.
