Dances the Moon away

Description
Down in the valley
Where the moonlight lays
I found a southern girl, who brought me to my knees.
She has ebony hair and green eyes and may be a voodoo queen.

She burns hotter than a pine knot fire
and can dance the moon away.

When she says she loves you
she means she will stay.

And lonesome train whistles in the night
Means only she will hold you closer still.

Open mike and a mandolin.........

That sounds like quite a woman. Nice mandolin and vocal. Doesn't really need anything else.

Dances the Moon away
You had me at the picture. Reminds me of some Steve Earle tracks I heard earlier today. Nice images in the lyric, plenty of personality in the vocal. Nice picking on the mando.

Horror Flick
This feels like a horror movie, especially with the scratchy old needle effect, like a Stephen King tale unfolding in all its gradually revealed weirdness and oddball glamour, and in this case, underlying sexiness.

Uncomfortably compelling.
