Description
After posting this the first time I had a few comments of the absence of bass. Chris Flynn (rok41) helped me out and did a spectacular job with it. Thanks Chris!
Inspired by my late girlfriend Jody Ann Rex. She was the strongest person I've yet to meet in my life. With all that happened she never asked "why me?" Acoustic guitar and vox by me. Everything else is with GB. This is my first attempt at recording with GB. I know it needs work. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
---Have being asked recently what the inspiration was for this song, I decided to go into more depth about it.
Verse 1…
I remember we were cooking dinner when friends dropped by to see what the latest word was. She said "I have a brain tumor." Said she was going to go for the suggested treatment and everything was going to be fine. (At this point we were told it was "only" a stroke.)
Pre-Chorus
Verse 2…
"Did you see…" I was sitting watching the hot air balloons over ABQ. Something she wanted to see, the balloon fiesta, never made it there. And she was always cold from the poisons of the chemo treatment. Even on a hot day she would wear a sweater.
Chorus
Verse 3
"Now all I can do…" As her strength deteriorated she would just sit and stare outside from the 3rd floor where we lived. She would gaze at the park we used to walk through.
A few hidden meanings are at the 3:10 mark, a bell, the day she passed March 10th. An angel got her wings. From 4:08-4:10 you can hear her say "money, money, money." 4:10 being the birthday of her best friend, Donna, since she was 6 years old. Length of song is 4:18, April 18th, her birthday.

Well, have you heard the news today
I got this feeling inside I got to fight to go away
Won't you come and sit with me for a little bit of time
Maybe we can just talk, talk about the weather
Oh yeah, it's a beautiful day
Well have you heard the news I'm not feeling quite right
I've got this feeling inside I got to fight
I got to fight
Did you see the balloons this morning flying oh so high
I want to go there
Through the clouds to the snow capped mountains
Into the heat of the sun
It's got to be, got to be so warm there
I want to feel the sunshine on my face
I want to burn down this place in my mind
In my mind
Now all I can do is sit in my chair
And stare out the window
I want to go there
I want to walk through the park hand in hand
I want to feel the wind blow through my hair
I want to go there
I want to feel the sunshine on my face
I want to burn down this place in my mind
In my mind
