Eleven days ago Andy Wigzell aka awigze sent me a note that said simply - Budfix. I turned to my new favorite writing assistant - the Chordbot app for iPhone and started developing a chord structure in 5/4 (something new for me). I was able to rearrange and listen on the subway - at work etc. I exported the resulting midi file and dropped it into GarageBand and then played with different voices and tempos - cutting and pasting and creating some new tracks until I came up with what I thought was a suitable bed for Andy to work with. I made a point of creating something that was unlike any of the other songs we've collaborated on - because so far Andy has always reached deep and come up with amazing and surprising results no matter what I throw at him. I sent my mix off to him on 4/2 and waited - hoping he would get into it. When I didn't get an immediate response I worried. Foolish me. Last night I found this mix in the mail without a word - just "Fukushima or Blessed Island". I assume these were choices but I liked the duality and went with it. Once again Andy delivered.

I like the moods and melodies in here. Pulse just keeps pushin along while the sax dances on top of the chord changes. I think this is a candidate for some modern dance work.
Thanks for the download :)
