Second version of this, I've disabled the first

This is a song that has been gestating for some time, the bones of it have been on my hard drive for about a year. It has been through a number of iterations, once with an entirely different verse arrangement. Over the last few days it seemed to take on a life of its own and I recorded vocals and guitar solos, bringing it all together into what you hear here.
It is somewhat more of a straight rocker than my usual fare, and I have tried some guitar heroics in the verses, this is what gave life to the old rhythm segment I already had recorded. Again I've worked hard on the vocal arrangement, aiming for a big rock sound which I hope I've achieved
Kinda loud, kinda brash but kinda fun too. Enjoy.

*** Hopefully, after a self taught session with Flex Time and a few re-recordings this version isn't suffering the timing issues the first version did. Or not as bad anyway! ***

I've also taken away the master compression which was leaving artefacts all over the place.

Imaginerica (fixed version)
This version is tighter but still retains some loose punky edge! There's a cool REM vibe to the melody and vocal!

i'm waiting
for your ode to the royal wedding. but hey in the meantime i'll dig on this bit of transatlantic indie americana. neil the younger. are you sure you weren't born in Athens? really like the guitar tone in the verse and the occasional finger bump into dissonance. this is extremely well composed - all the parts in their correct places. also, not sure, but i think bud just complemented your rack.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's in the south of the UK in an Irish family. I had always loved music but was never given an opportunity to explore making it for myself. About 10 years ago I bought an acoustic guitar and began strumming in earnest. To d... [see more]
