John mentioned the Floyd thing after rehearsal
last night. Said we sounded like early Floyd with Keith Moon on drums. Thanks for dropping by.

Yep - it's live and outdoors
my H2 digital recorder was on stage with us because it was a rainy day. I use a loop pedal which creates the "more than a trio effect". Steve is a great drummer. I feel really lucky to have John and Steve to play with. Al that high end synthy stuff is actually the bass through a frequency analyzer.

excellent
loving that guitar part at the beginning (what is that ticking sound at the end of the wail?). frikking intense Kevin. if I ever move to Brooklyn: I'm in.round about 4 minutes is the Floyd part for me (that slide tone is perfection).

The ticking in the beginning?
I have no idea. Besides guitar I'm also playing the Air FX which is the very low guttural sound in the loop. The stepping frequency stuff is John's bass. That slide you mentioned is bowing with a rough bit of steel - the shaft of a sculpture file actually.

We're hoping to work with Wharton Tiers
in July or August. It'll be nice to have some discreet control - but I think the performance model will be the same.

Thanks Vic for te vote of confidence
We never know what's gonna happen when we start one of these things - but having an audience always seems to help. I saw Nels Cline duet with Marc Ribot tonight and it was awesome. Two monster guitar innovators.

Huge. I'm sure the Governors were listening. Very cool drone - with an explosive ending.

Damn!
I love this, I live for this, Live playing at its best the way it was manta to be, feeling every turn following every nuance! Grinding away at that Guitar? Synth? Absolutely amazing I wish I was there! Steve really holds this together, you guys are like dancing around him building it up destroying it driving the demons out! that transition out tof the real intense part towards the end it was like floating on a wave.
then almost a structured element to lead me out! You guys are good!

airportseven said 2801 days ago (June 20th, 2011)
Hey Tim
The only synth is the growling Air FX that comes around the loop built from guitar drones and distortion. The high end synth stuff is John's bass through a frequency analyzer. Steve is graet to play with - as a leader and a follower.

Oh nooooo...you
said/wrote the word "bandcamp" and straight away helpless fit of giggles...."one time...at bandcamp "...and the rest is probably left to the individual memories......sorry can concentrate on the music now........this is solid reminds me of a Black Sabbath track off the Album Vol 4...not sure about the Floyd reference from DA,not hugely into all their stuff. This is strangely relaxing you know,I never am sure what you guys are up to when you do this kind of stuff ...do you have an idea and aim for it or do you just go with the flow ? Whatever it has a quality sound .Good job.

I guess the bandcamp story will come another time
Thanks for the Sabbath check - we head that way from time to time. We have no idea where we going or even starting when we begin a set. The first number is always whatever comes at the moment - usually part of finding our sound since we often don't get a chance to check - and in this case used an existing back line.
