Lyrics
I’ve been waiting for your day
You’re moving forward never knowing I’m close behind
I know you better than you know
I’ve seen you future, your time has arrived

Tonight’s the night, we meet
And pride, it cuts you like a knife
Tonight’s the night
Another day won’t matter when I’ve had my way
You start to pray, you try to fight,
It’s okay the end’s in sight
Tonight’s the night, tonight’s the night,
Tonight! Oh, oh oh.

I’ll see you answer for your crimes
It’s only natural
You try to stop me with a smile
But I am justified

Tonight’s the night, we meet
And pride, it cuts you like a knife
Tonight’s the night
Another day won’t matter when I’ve had my way
You start to pray, you try to fight,
It’s okay the end’s in sight
Tonight’s the night, tonight’s the night,
tonight! Oh, oh oh.

Fill the need,
Fill the space
Fill the hunger
Fill the pain
Tonight, Tonight!
Tonight’s the night!
Tonight, tonight!

Cool tune! The production and recording quality of this were already impressive. Then I read you had done it on an iPad! Now I'm really impressed!

Thanks!
This is the first time I've created an entirely original song, using only the iPad, no Mac. I've found Garageband for iPad to be pretty powerful, especially if you use the sections tool to define the verses, choruses, intros, etc., and it lets you re-arrange them even more easily than GB Mac. I have a first-gen iPad, and while I had one crash as I was creating it, it handled 8 tracks with multiple effects on each channel very well.

And, get this: I used an iKlip stand to hold the iPad to my mic stand, some velcro atop the mic boom control to hold the AmpKit link to the stand. I used the AmpKit to record both the guitar and the vocal - everything I needed on one music stand. If I had this stuff when I was in high school, just learning the guitar, I would have NEVER left my room.

TV Program...
Do I want to give it away? Maybe you don't know the show, but I hope somebody that does has an AHA! when they realize it. I will say, it's a long-running show on a pay-cable network. Also, the icon for the song is a hint. Thanks for listening.

Tonights the night
Being created on an ipad makes this even more extraordinarily good!

Well done

Hmmm, there's blood on the strat so I'm guessing True Blood. Maybe the Bon Temps coven's pursuit of Eric this season? Nice vocal and I like the interweaving guitar and synth lines. Cool that you did it on an ipad, but I'm going to need a bigger incentive then a new section tool to justify switching from the desktop version of GB.

Close...
But wrong network.

I am not advocating switching to the iPad from a full desktop setup! In my classroom, I record every song we perform, accompaniment and voice parts, on my MBP, and I won't be switching to doing it all on the iPad. But, the iPad offers several things the desktop version doesnt: portability, touch screen insruments (organ and bass above), and exporting to the desktop version for further editing. For me, I can set up my mic stand with the iPad attached in my living room with my guitar, and record while my kids watch tv. In fact, with the battery life the iPad offers, I could charge it, bring it out into the woods, and record (if I was inclined to do this) without needing to plug in a break out box, and the like.

In short, this song is kind of a "proof-of-concept," that a fairly polished recording can be created on the iPad exclusively. For now, I'm excited to see what else I can do,
