Going where?

Well, this might not be any kind of "real" jazz -- I'm not very familiar with the genre -- or even fusion, but it's as close as I'm probably going to get to it, and a neat little experiment for me. Enjoy!

Song info, as requested by Henke:

This was recorded using midi/vsti and electric guitar.

The song may sound live (or live-ish), but it's actually comprised of many different shorter takes glued together, due to composition changes along the way, some timing issues, noise issues, perfectionism issues ;) and so on.

It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted (do they ever?), but I learned a lot about the composition/production process along the way.

I use a great DAW called Reaper which is very cheap, small, stable, flexible, frequently updated and generally very functional. By far my favorite of all the DAWs I've tried (including Cubase & Sonar). If you're not completely happy with your sequencer, I strongly recommend you check it out!

Great swinging first entry
Welcome to MacJams, may you enjoy many happy years on this great site, listening to and posting good music, and perhaps find some good musicians to collaborate with :-)

Good to hear some music of your own at last. It may not be in any favorite genre of mine, but I enjoyed it a lot anyway. Nice groove and playing. It sounds very much (a)live, I guess you are playing real instruments on this? Could be nice to hear a little more about your recording techniques, instruments used, mixing software etc - if you want to.

It may take a while to get your foot into the community, getting people to listen and comment. The best things to do usually are: 1. Having great music to share (check), 2. Listening and commenting on other people's songs, 3. Taking part in chat and forum (if you like you can post the url of your song in the chat box a couple of times, when some people are online), 4. Be visible in the Who's Online list. For one week there is a note by the flag indicating that you have one (or more) new song(s) posted. The number next to that indicates how many months the person(a) has been a member of MJ. Yours truly is about to turn 5 years now any day ;-)

Well, hope to see you around, I think I'll try to post your url to get you started a bit ;-)

Take care,

Tack för uppmärksamheten! Jag antar att jag får kalla dig Henke hädanefter. ;)

I haven't really had a chance to explore the site properly yet, but I really like what I've seen/heard so far. My only complaint is that it loads a little slowly sometimes, but that's not a major concern. This seems like a really good place to be a musician!

Thank you
for listening and commenting. It's always nice to get a little attention when you're new. I listened to some of your music as well and I must say you have a very interesting singing voice. If I ever compose something suitable and you don't have anything better to do... let me know. ;)

It may not be your genre, but you've capture the basics pretty well. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

Sounds like jazz to me.. not that I know what that means either. That guitar is gonna be stuck in my head. That's some nice riffing.
