Description
I've been trying to get the chorus a bit more presentable on this track, very much open to all thoughts/critiques as usual. There's something slightly gospel feeling about this one for me, somehow...thanks for the stop by and listen!

Lyrics
A Son At Midnight
by Nonso

Midnight over the water
Midnight over the ages
Midnight on my tears in the snow
This water fall is heavy

Stand on my two legs
I can see the ocean
So far, far and blue
This water is heavy
Heavy with pain
Heavy with love
Heavy with pain
O so heavy, oh

Midnight over the water
I think I saw my father
He took my hand to say goodbye
His friendship is heavy

But out of my darkness
Shall come a brightness
And it will lead me home
This promise is heavy
Heavy with pain
Heavy with love
Heavy with pain
O so heavy, oh

Midnight over the water
I think I saw my father
Midnight on my tears in the snow
This water is heavy
Heavy with pain
Heavy with love
Heavy with pain
O so heavy, don't you worry
O so heavy, it'll lead me home
O so heavy
Heavy with pain
Heavy with love
Heavy with pain
O so heavy, oh

Please
do not take this as a "knock"...cos I really love the bones of this track. The vocals are enchanting. ... but here's what I think.... get some musicians to help you beef up the sound bed and re mix this... it it a magical track. Downloaded.

Davisamerica and Patriciagirl thanks so much for the listen. I know there is a lot of truth in your words, and I'm glad the message got through though!

This is
a really great song Nonso and as Jack said, it could be really special if it was beefed up some. I think your harmonies and vocals got better as the song went on and were really good towards the last verses. I think there's room for this to start off really simple and to slowly build up to those good and full sounding harmonies you have towards the end. Some variation in the chords too would really help bring out the melody more. That said, I really like the song, your performance and the lyrics, regards M

...
There's something about the way the robotic style of the percussion tugs against the natural sway of the guitar/vox that makes this sound really cool. I can't really critique vox/harmonies, but if it was bad, I would have clicked away right away, so I guess that's something.
